Question about Moroso air filter

Delinquent

Well-known member
My wife's mustang has a moroso air intake system. Is there a way to clean out the air filter instead of getting a new one? I really can't afford the $50 pricetag right now. Maybe an air compressor? Her old friend who used to work on it used to soak it over night then let it air dry but I'm not sure what exactly he soaked it in. It's a basic oval type air filter. I'm also wondering if a K&N filter could fit on the moroso air intake system?

you can help the filter somewhat by using the air compressor...so you would take the nozzle from inside and blow outward....dont just blow the filter off, all that does is inbed the dirt deeper into the filter....this is just a quick fix. soaking a paper element is something i know nothing about, but it would have to be a very light and quick drying SOLVENT.....if a filter will fit into the cannister or housing it will most likely work just fine, so long as it seals well.

If it's a reusable filter then you can clean it. K&N sell a filter recharging kit. If your just talking about the moroso oval filter holder thing for carborated engines any oval filter will fit that is the same diamiter. So you could get a paper filter for a few bucks too. Not sure which one your talking about.

Yea I went up to the store and bought the K&N recharger pack. I didn't turn the filter white that's for sure but I'm letting it air dry now and will spray the oil on later.
