Question about mercury in Tuna

daok

New member
I have hear by someone at school that is not good to eat tuna every day cause of the mercury... is that true?

fresh tuna, yeah. canned tuna is pretty safe. the fish used in canned tuna is too young to have accumulated dangerous levels of mercury... or so I have read.

you can eat all the tuna you want and you will never get even close to the mercury levels that are dangerous. BUt damm 4 a day? id rather eat ass.

I read an article a few years back from MM2K that analyzed about ten major brands. The only one that was clean from additives, chems, insects was Bumble Bee.
Also, eating ass is good for you, as long as there's a pussy on the other side.

from what i hear, the younger fish (ahi) are a better bet.

also steer clear of bottom feeders....(catfish)

(i sound like i know about fish....but thats the extent of my knowledge) heheheheh

Damn, I was at 20-30 cans a week. I was peeing tuna. hhhhhmmmm aaaaaaaaassss

Hmmm

I think that probably two or three 6 oz. cans a day is the most you'd want to eat. While it's true that tuna steaks contain higher concentrations of mercury (because tuna steaks come from larger fish that have had more time to accumulate toxins) canned tuna still has a significant amount.

Your best bet is to eat Chunk light, also, as it's usually made from very small fish (solid albacore is made from larger).

Either way, I don't think there have been many studies that prove tuna consumption to be THAT harmful.
