When I cook my eggs am I encourage to throw in a heap of butter? And how about oil, should I be plopping tablespoons of oil with applicable meals?

All depends on your %breakdown of foods, the extra calories have to be accounted for. I usually fry eggs and bacon on 1tbsp of olive oil. Overall, I think adding healthy EFA's to your cooking is a pretty good idea. However, butter is a different story, most of the butter you see in the stores is just margirine w/ hydrogenated oil.

also when adding extra fat to a meal i wouldnt use it in the cooking process this worsens the lipid profile of the fats. Butter's profile is bad to begin with.

If you need extra fat (cals) add cold EFA's after cooking.
