SO I have around 100 pics on my iphone. I backed them up using Icloud with my lap top. Now that they are backed up, can I delete the pics off my iphone, or will that delete them on my lap top also?

I don't know about apple's cloud specifically (and I damn sure ain't gonna read up on it for anyone who doesn't have boob pics to send) but I would imagine it's a sync'ing service. That means uploading from a device then deleting from the device would result in them being deleted from the cloud. I would look for a second option like Google Drive, Dropbox and tell it NOT to sync.

iCloud doesn't back up all of your pics just a few. Just turn it off on the iCloud and upload them to your computer. Turn iCloud off before you hook it to your computer so it will connect. I was under the impression ICloud saved all of them but it doesn't only a few. So just contacts or files etc should be updated to save your iCloud room.

That's not quite how it works (or my experience is different then yours). The Photostream function syncs all the pictures.

Well see I was under the impression that it saved them all until I updated and my pics when you login to the actual iCloud site had disappeared so I called apple because I bought more online space to accommodate all my pics (around 5,000) and the tech told me it would keep 200-300 pictures until it got full then it would add new ones and push out old ones which isn't saving them to me. So I removed the pics from iCloud which removes the photo stream from your phone which helps save room on it and saves room for saving contacts Etc. how I saw the issue also is I backed up and I went from pics on the net to none? I was wtf? So I called.

Straight answer: I don't know. I use it for sharing & syncing all my contacts with 3 iPhones (mine, wife's, and business). But these are all under the same iCloud account, and I do know that things can disappear for no reason, or by accident. Keep a hard copy of everything!!!!
Best advice is make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, and go with a list of any questions. Not your phone company's store... Phone stores have idiots knowing nothing about iPhones other than what their 9-year-old sister said. The Apple Store usually won't even charge you, and my experience is that they really know their products.

Curious. I have about 1k of pictures and haven't had a problem. Maybe I got lucky!
Well you must have. See they were on there, some of them then disappeared and couldn't pull them back on there. So I called to fuss and he told me that it was a big confusion about it backing up the pics that it maybe backed up data and some pics. Now I already had the phone and pics. So maybe if I started with a whole new phone from the beginning of iCloud I could have saved them all?
