question about grip... i think

Ok. So everyone pretty much works their muscles all around thus preventing the hunch over, disproportionate or other odd looks. Work one muscle, work it's complementary muscle for the even steven.
What about in grip though? I mean you close your hands/fingers via a crushing movement or static hold, but nothing is ever mentioned for counter movement. Shouldn't there be something recommended in the lines of resistance in opening hands? Wouldn't something like that help ease your hand's everyday motion.
The same question goes towards the foot/calf area. Would the reverse movement of a calf raise be more helpful to the overall balance so to say? Any thoughts or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated

Reverse of heel raises are toe raises. It works the tibilas anterior, the muscle around the shins. This can help prevent shin splints. These are good to do if you have really developed calves. Balance is key with muscles.

There is really no need for those exercises. How often are you going to have to open your hand against resistance? Not often. Balance isn't very important in such small, non-weight bearing areas of the body.

Bulldog is right. Besides there is a synergistic gain of strength to the opposing muscles so you can always open your hand or lift you foot.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Interesting topic. It would be interesting to have the same crushing strength, with your fingers bending back instead of forward. Never seen it before though. I think it balances out for the most part.
