question about elbow flexors, experts please...

The bicep is in its stronger position when the arm is supinated. The bracioradialis is in its strongest position when the arm is misposition (like a hammer curl). When is the bracialis in its strongest position?

I am pretty sure that I think that I saw a thread like this in Anabolic Discussion, either there or Elite Fitness Select. Can not remember. But I think that the date on it was 11/14 or 11/13. I know that it is not very old.

I would assume while supinated, based on the attachment points.

(ORIGIN
Anterior lower half of humerus and medial and lateral intermuscular septa
INSERTION
Coronoid process and tuberosity of ulna )

That doesn't show the attachments, but it gives some idea of the breadth of the muscle.
 
Then again, it's entirely possible that I just pulled that out of my ass. You'll never know.

But I'm still fairly certain. Actually, a true supinated grip is a bit awkward for any arm flexion; halfway between a supinated and a neutral grip puts less rotational stress on the forearm, and would probably be ideal.
 
Hey man,

From my experience I would say the brachialis is at its strongest point when in the hammer position curl. Between supination and pronation. Because to develop the peak in your bicep it is good to work the brachialis and I have heard to work the peak hammer curls are great. I hope that helps....and makes sense. good luck!

I agree with the first part. In the neutral position the brachialis is strongest. ie the hammer position.
In order to get a better peak ez barbell curls using the inner grip will work the outside part of the bi's which contribute the most to the peak of them.
 
In neutral position, the BRACIORADIALIS (forearm) is in its strongest position. Are you also saying the brachialis (underneath bicep) is also? Also, changing your grip will not work the inner/outter bicep much differently.
