Question about dips

Hello, I have a question about dips. I do regular old-fashioned dips three sets of around either 8 or 10. Ideally, where should my elbows be? Should they be tucked in to my body or flared out? Does this depend on a target area of either tricep or chest? Regardless, I go parallel and move slow and controlled. Thanks.

If I do dips I keep my elbows close to my body. Lower yourself to where your elbows are bent and your shoulders are slightly stretched. Keep your hips straight as well.

If you do dips with your elbows pointing out and lean forward slightly, you will hit your chest more. If you do them with your elbows tucked in tight, you will feel a much greater burn in your triceps. The placement of your elbows decides which body parts get hit harder. To hit both, do 2 sets with elbows out, 2 sets with elbows in.

elbows in less strain on your shoulders. you can pull your legs forward or back to hit chest more. but there is really not that big of a difference. the % difference it not that much.

I would say whatever feels natural cause not everyone or every dip station is the same. I lean more to work chest and don't the hit tris more.
