Question about 2 weeks off

I am 19, 5'11" and only 145. I say only because the doctor told me I should be at least 165 for my height. Yes, I have a slight eating disorder, not anorexia or anything though, I have just started counseling. Well, I have been lifting for a while, pretty intensely, but lately have had a lack of energy and my legs are constantly sore and pop. I thought the best thing to do would be to take two weeks off, just walking and some pushups. Will this be long enough, or what should I do? Thanks for the advice.

Two weeks off is not a bad idea. You might find after the break, you'll start gaining again. I would leave out the pushups.

When you get in the groove taking time off is one of the hardest things to bring yourself to do because it just seems counterproductive to everything you have worked for. But it is a great idea, you will probably not lose size or strength.

I took two weeks off recently, and I didn't lose any muscle at all. It's great to come back at it, full of energy, too.

And the strength and size you may lose will be (marginal) but the strength and size you will gain when you start your routine after two weeks will be above marginal. Its called taking one set back and taking two steps forward !!!! Consistency is the key.

Hey.... when I was 26 yrs. old, I was 5` 9" and weighed 143 lbs. I know the feeling Bro. Been there / done that. I hated myself for being a no ass, no chest, no self esteem skinny assed fuck. So I joined a gym, worked my ass off, stayed with it and never looked back......I`m 185 now (not big by any standard) but way better than 143 lbs. But equally important.... I have built self respect and a higher self esteem through my diligence and sweat which reflects positively in all areas of my life, not just in the gym. I like who I am now and that is a very important thing.

I`m no one special Bro and If it can work for me it can work for you (BUT) you will only get back what you put into it. Stay with this board for support and motivation. There are many good brothers here who are eager to help and guide you.

Go 4 it Bro !!! You are at the helm of your own destiny.

Pump on .....

I agree with everyone else here bro. Take some time off, give your body some time to heal, then come back with a 200% effort! I usually find when I take a week off after 10-12 weeks, I come back considerably more motivated.
