Can you plug in/out a CD Burner while the computer is on or should you turn it off before?
(I know it's better but I don't want to waste unnecessarily 5 minutes)

I've a problem with my DVD player
When I add the napkin to use the DVD player and I reboot I have a "INSERT SYSTEM DISK PRESS ENTER"
w/o the napkin it works fine

WTF?

napkin = 80-conductor cable

if its an external drive you should be able to plug and play with the most current windows OS..

if its internal I'd turn that shit off before connecting bro.. especially the power portion.. you are able to short circuit shit and blow out the entire powersupply if you are hot swapping a standard CD/DVD player

It's an internal player :worried:

sounds like your system BIOS is configured to boot from CD ROM first. Change the order to boot the ide disk first and cdrom second.
