Well it looks like I won't have to buy it on e-bay after all. It will be in the theaters then it will be on dvd with new footage and so forth. 25 year anniverary adition

arnold had a interview in musclemag and he said the 25th year anniversary edition is due to hit theatres about six months and the dvd will be released soon after with lots of extra footage.

You just made me day.....................but i don't see anyone going to the movies seeing it, besides die hard bodybuilding fans like ourselves :D

i have a copy of pumping iron i can try and have my friend transfer it to like mpeg. i gotta ask him though.

I don't think it would just be muscleheads. Everyone loves Arnold, and to see something from his golden years is an interesting idea. I bet it would still do pretty well.

I'd definately be there. It would be great for bodybuilding - again.

Shit i bet a lot of kids and younger people, and older people who dont know arnold in that setting and light will go see it, you know how the production houses make every movie sound like the film of the year.......it will make its money back, hell it was done in74 and 75, and I bet it only costed about 20,000 to make if even that much, so if it does 5-10 million at the box office, what a profit!

If this is true about it hitting thearters, then alooooooot of young bucks are gonna be on the sauce. Steroids will be as common as beer or pot.:D

I CAN NOT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah the only other movie that made me want to inject on the spot besides pumping iron was "the program" when andrew byrnarski was so fuckin jacked in the weight room. Actually I train with him everyday, not on the same workout but at the gym, I spot him sometimes and he is a real nice guy, they said if he would have stuck with it he would have been one of the biggest bb's in the sport, but who would turn down being a movie star to be a huge bb..........I wouldnt!

Niether would I. Arnold did the right thing as well. If he wasn't involved in movies he'd probably be dead be now.

right now Im takin this "history of documentary in film" class, and I want the teacher to show pumpin iron, but I know he wont do it, but I didnt want him to show it just because its arnold and bb, I wanted him to show it because it is a great documentary altogether..........and plus at the time nobody knew shit about bbing, so its a cutting edge film!

its true

Where did you hear it would be at the theaters? That would be cool for sure if its true.

it was said in this months musclesmag in an interview w/ Arnold himself, i can't remember when, i just remember its soon

Hells yeah!!!! Man I hope this is true!! Oh I can't wait!! :D If this is bullshit I am gonna be sooooo mad!!! I feel like a kid at Christmas, I might finally get pumping iron on DVD!!!

was this arnold's first movie? i saw "hercules in new york" sunday and i figured it was arnolds first. he didnt even use his name. he was "Mr, olympia: arnold "strong". it was a B movie but it was entertaining just seeing him way before the conan days.
i'll have to see this movie i guess. is it a documentry or a movie?

Maybe we will get to see more footage of Ken Waller being a dick. LOL

I laugh at that loser all the time, he was like ALWAYS trying to get in the shot, kiss Arnie's ass, get screen time, ...... what a loser.

Arnold on helping others:

"Maybee Id just geeve im da rong advices".

Arnold on being a champion:

"U must du ebberrreeding du ween"

Arnold on liquid nutrition:

"Meeelk ez fur baybees, wen u grow ubb you ged du dreenk bee-ahh".

This is the best news I've heard all day!!! I can't wait!
CN1, I agree w/ you completely about "The Program. That is the best sports movie I've ever seen.

Alcatraz

this will be great for the sport only problem is this will prolly bring the bust rate up cause people will be begging for sauce ,so im scared of its release

do you think arnold will allow the scene with him smoking a joint in the 25th ann. edition? he cut it out when he bought the rights and re-released the first time around. maybe this time they will show him pulling some 3 foot bong hits

can you transfer pumping iron to mpeg and put it on some ftp site?????

would be awesome to see.

BUllshit!!!!!!!!!! It is not coming out in films or being reprinted on cr tapes White Mountain Film Co. owns the rights, I should know I worked for them.

I have copies of the film, I have been selling them for the longest time I just stopped posting on this board due to the supposed "SPAM"ing I was doing.

don't hold your breathe for it to come back out again.

And who ever claims that Arnold stated this in a magazine interview, we all anxiously await seeing proof of such an article.

No he's only in his 50's...maybe early 60's at the oldest...I work out at his Gym. Actualy, I thought you were hist son Mike Jr.

Jet,

I am not doubting that you know him, since he does reside in Connecticut liek you. And I have seen a recent photo of him and he is still in great shape. However, lets do the Math, he was and it states in the Documentary Pumping Iron, he was 42 years old when he competed in the 1975 Mr. Universe , it is now 26 years later, he is at least 67 or 68, not to say he doesnt look great. IN fact , it must be an honor to workout in the same gym as him.

Peace,
Mike

Wow Nm.. didn't know he was 42 in pumping iron.. Holy shit he looks good for his age..

Are you sure he was 42?... He played with the Jets in the late 60's or early 70's...maybe he was in his mid 30's when he tried out for the jets.

He's a really good dude. Loves to talk bodybuilding and the jets..which is great for me because i'm a big jet fan.

He's also good friends with arnold.. he's been to our gym. Unfortunatly, I missed him.

Hell yeah. You're talking about Steve Lattimer Right? Every time I watch that, I feel like sending 500mgs of test on the spot. That guy is fucking huge. That military press scene is ill as hell. Also the scene where he puts his head through the car windows. That shit get's me all amped up.

Hey bro's I know a guy that is selling it on VCD format, it is great quality for $10 a piece, thats shipping and everything, I'll look for his e mail addy, if anyone is interested!

Arnold and Franco Columbo are true champions. They paved the way for today's bodybuilders.I'd love to see another Pumping Iron with them.

Jeremy,

Get off the drugs, I have seen the frickin movie so many times I can mouth it word for word. The documentary is based on the 1975 Mr. Universe / Mr. Olympia contest. Mike Katz said he is 42 years old, that was in 1975 . Today is 2001 OK now get out your calculator , you ready, push that little button that says "on" good boy, now do the math 2001 - 1975 = 26
26 years today since Mike Matz competed in that Mr. Universe 26 plus his age of 42 is go ahead use the calculator again. 68 I'm not saying he does not look good, I'm just driving my point home, in fact its not even worth arguing, indubidably I am correct.

Thanks for playing,
Mike

I do believe it was his first movie. "Hercules in New York" is supposed to be released on DVD with the option to here the movie in Arnold's voice or the dubbed version they play on TV. Yes, Pumping Iron is one of the greatest documenteries ever made. I have it on tape but I will no doubt buy the dvd. Also, does anyone know if The Program is on DVD, I can't find it anywhere?
