Public perception of ARNOLD

overheard a conversation in line yesterday that was kind of funny. Guy was complaining about how fat people may get tax breaks here soon for weight loss programs and how if you go by the govt chart, that ARNOLD himself would be listed as overweight. The guy then went on to say that at Arnold's height he should be 195 or so by govt standards yet he is "what, like 300 pounds or something?" The average guy just sees him as so incredibly massive — even today, I didnt bother to correct him. I remember Arnold competing at 230-240, anyone have any idea what his current weight is today? I saw him at the classic in columbus and would still have to guess 230 or so.

I would say 230 very tops. Depending on what movie he is playing in.

GODDAMNIT!!!! How the fuck can he be 230 and look like he does but I'm 225 and still look skinny. Sure, I can attribute some of it to bodyfat percent. He might be about 5-7% for a movie and I'm currently 10-11% BUT STILL!!!! Why the fuck do these guys look so much bigger than me when I'm at a semi comprable height/weight (I'm 6'2" just like him) .

Sorry. Rant over.

I believe I read that he was at 218 in a muscle magazine a while back.

He does a quick little biceps pose in front of the mirror at the beginning of "The Sixth Day". He's looking good for being in his mid-fifties, but nothing like he used to be.

I don't think he gets down that low, honestly. Not anymore, anyway. When was the last time they let you get a good look at hime with his shirt off in a movie? Not for a loooong time.

It is kind of weird, but people with lower body fat look bigger than people that outweigh them by 20 pounds sometimes. I'm 220 and most people guess that I weight 235 or so. While I'm surprised by some people that don't look that big, actually weigh a lot more than I think.

Commando he looked ILL

Yep, he used to be a bad motherfucker, but now I wish he would stop making movies, go into politics or something, and leave me with my memories.:)

He looked absolutely massive and his body looked wicked for Commando. As for his weight I would say 220lbs, when I get into my 50's, thats the size I would like to look like.

I agree. I prefer that my action heros haven't had open heart surgery. All his latest movies have been jokes anyway. He needs to shift from the athletic action hero role into an older type of role like Connery.

He did look fucking wicked in Commando. I'd like to know his weight/body fat for that role.

Arnold has weighed less than 200 except for during movie shoots for years......he just stays fairly lean for a middle aged guy :)

The problem is, Sean Connery can act, and Arnold can only play himself. When you see Arnold playing a character, it seems like just that- Arnold playing a character. His physique, his accent, and his persona went together perfectly and were great for the super human roles he used to play. You can tell he's trying to switch over a little bit in his latest movies, like in "Collateral Damage", but it just isn't working, and the public ain't buyin' it. Neither am I.
