It's pretty much common knowledge that the percentage of homosexuals amongst serial killers, psychopaths and other crazy people is significantly higher than of the general population.

Do you think this is because of the way society treats homosexuality, or is there something else?

I'd like some homo opinions too.

I think it is more cause they got f'd with bigtime in their younger years as is often the case....

their "homosexuality" is probably more a symptom of such experiences and more of a twisted sense of sexuality and NOT like more typical homosexuality...

Yep... homos would get the shit beat out of them daily in gym class, on the bus, in the hallway etc.. I am sure this can make someone very psychotic.

Is this a USA thing?.. I know several out of the closet teenage homo's and none of them were ever battered or anything. Most say when they came out they regretted ever hiding it.

I think Europe is probably not as fearful of homosexuality. Most of the men there are kind of metrosexual already. Try being slightly fruity in a town like Pittsburgh and you can expect abuse. Even tanning is considered gay in a blue collar town.

I believe you... I just think Europeans are generally more stylish. Americans in a blue collar town are very shielded from style and the gay culture.

You will like this story...

I had this one prof tell me once in undergrad (my bs was in neurobiology/neuropsychology) that since you can localize the area like say where musical composition occurs at, then theoretically you could tell which people are more musically gifted by scanning them and seeing who had bigger neural locuses or area of activation upon such activities...

I raised my hand and and told her that this was wrong in theory and in its basic premises because: 1) music is a subjective ART and not an objective measurable ability and 2) it sounds a lot like Phrenology if you want to step back to the middle ages...

Scary thing was she was a big Psych guru and an adviser to the UN and a bunch of other international organizations (other self appointed geniuses )..

I was the best student in the class and the bitch gave me a C for Pwning her ass in class (not the only time I put her in her place, but it had to be done she was so high on herself)...

Look at how intelligent all the great classical composers were. There a great rational and even scientific aspect to music. Look at how strongly inherited musical talent is. There are whole dynasties. Even when raised in another family these genes tend to pop up.

I will actually agree with this

And some are not very intelligent at all... there is a big scientific aspect, but science alone by formula has failed to produce truly moving pieces...
As far as "dynasties", could it be that money and opportunity and access because of money are just as responsible as any particular talent level? Hell sure no one would say it is great I am sure but Paris Hilton is making a record because of money and access... I am sure it is not great, but she has the access which many will never have no matter how intelligent or talented...

Either way you would have to tie this to thousands of studies before you could even think to say something like this... and just cause one has a larger neural locus activated - what if those neurons were less efficient, or in a person with a smaller locus, what if they are more efficient?

There are lots of problems with this theory....

I don't think the family pattern in musical talent is purely nurture. I think there is empirical evidence.
