PROZAC is being taken in such large quantities it can be found in Britain's drinking water, according to a report released today.

The study reveals that traces of pharmaceuticals travel through the sewage network and end up being recycled back into the water system.

The same has been said about oral contraceptives for a few years now. Hopefully we don't all start growing breasts anytime soon.

I really don't think this has any more significance other than the fact that we can now measure substances in parts per trillion in our water. Detection methods have become very good.

They are certainly no incidence on healthy people

but add a few ppm of a couple of different drugs - with potentialy synergic effects - on a weak immune system for months and who knows what can happen
