Protein?

Do I need a lot of protein?

Every morning I run for 2 miles, but I do not lift weights.

Will it help me by eating tuna, chicken breast, and so fourth?

While asking about food, what's your view oranges? Can you over eat? I can eat 8~10 oranges a day.

I am trying to loose weight as of right now. I run in the morning and I do semi-light (50lbs) warehouse lifting 4 days out of the week. My recent menu is at least 6 egg white (2 yolk) for breakfast (I tend to through in some fruits). For lunch, which I eat at around 3pm, I am taking in a semi decent amount of chicken or steaks, with a large serving of broccoli, or similar type of vegetables. I have limited my snacks to be a type of fruit (what other alternatives are there?) and 2 diet Pepsi a day (water the rest of the day). I need suggestions, what should I add or take away? What other things can replace chicken breast or a lean steak?

Thank all for reading!

Ian

Yes, you can overeat oranges, or any kind of fruit for that matter. The body only has enough phosfructokinase (fructose -> glucose converting enzyme) to process ~50 grams of fructose per day, and the rest gets automatically converted to triglyceride.

Cardio alone without a dedicated strength training program will just give you a smaller version of the body you already have - it won't make you leaner. Also, cardio only burns calories while you're doing it, it doesn't raise your metabolism after the fact like lifting weights does. The gals on the Women's Forum can give you detailed advice about diet and training.

A lot of you have understood that I am trying to avoid strength training. I am more then willing to train with weights. Just at the present moment, because of personal reasons, I am unable to get access to weights. I will be heading to Sam's Club soon and see what they have to offer. They use to have a very nice olympic weight set that was around $200. Until then, all I have are the things that are around from day to day. As I have said, I lift 50lbs boxes all day as of right now in a warehouse job.

Just trying to work with that I have as of right now, not trying to avoid hitting the weights.

Thanks all

Ian

For what I perceive to be your goals, I'd say about .7g/lb of your BW would be enough for you
