Prostate Medical Advice?

Singleton

New member
Just saw a doc about my prostate. He did a physical examination of it (stuck his finger up my ass) and confirmed that it was "big"

He did not check PSA levels, but had me take a urine analysis test.

I told him I was taking Finasteride and saw palmetto, but he did not ask how much of each. He prescribed Cipro (antibiotic) and told me I need to ejaculated ED.

Anyone know what the cipro is for?

How old are you? Usually BPH occurs in males over the age of 40..he sounds like a dumb ass...BPH if you have it is Benign Prostratic Hypertrophy and can be treated with Avodart-a DHT blocker made by GSK.
He gave you Cipro which is an antibiotic for I guess he is assuming you have prostatitus-infected prostrate....but if you have no symptoms of discharge, burning upon ejaculation or feeling of a knot in your scrotum then you don't have prostatitus...

what are symptoms of discharge?
What do you mean burning upon ejaculation?
What can cause a knot in your scotum?

I though the symptoms of a bad prostate where having a hard peing even though you have a full bladder, and having a hard time holding in more than 500 ml.

Correct me if i m wrong

Yes I forgot that one difficulty in voiding. Also you will have leakage meaning you will not be able to completely void all urine and it will drip out a bit later.
Really it depends on how inflammed it is, the knot feeling comes from swelling irritation of the PS sensation in the scrotum area.
If it is infected you will have some discharge(milky white fluid) in a flacid state and the orgasm will burn for the most part at the end.

I am no MD, and prostatitus is hard to diagnose I lived with it for 6 years and just thought it was a side of the AAS...searched and read tons of articles and in the end it took 6 months of continued antibiotic therapy to clear it up.

mine usually occured in the afternoon, and sometimes the evening or mornings...like I said it depends on the level of infection as it dropped on the antibiotic thearpy eventually off to nada nothing by the end...of the therapy.

Yeah, I've had a problem for a while. I got Cipro and it's getting better now. Other than having to pee a lot, I didn't have any pee/ejaculation problems. Urine test came out fine. No ketones, no bacterium; healthy pee.

I was perscribed Cipro, but it was so expensive. I found that I could take Bactrim DS instead. Bactrim was awful. Made me deathly ill and I couldn't digest any food.

I was finally able to get Cipro with the help of Bayer Pharmaceutical. Bayer has a program for free Cipro if you're low income. Thank you Bayer :) This stuff is too expensive for me to buy.

I think taking the 1-test was a good thing because it aggrivated the problem, causing me to seek medical advice, and it may likely be prostatitis.
