How well does it work to regrow hair that is thinning or gone. I understand you have to be on it for life but if thats how it has to be then thats how it has to be.

I´m using proscar myself. It blocks the conversion of test to dht.
Personally , i haven´t got more hair, but i haven´t lost anymore either.
PS: a quarter of a pill ed is enough

The longest period of time i have been on was for 1 year straight. Since then i take it for a few months and then leave it for a few months.
Theoretically, it can save damaged hair cells, but the ones already fallen out will not be regenerated. So if your a lucky you can regrow some hair in the first six months or so.
But as i said, i had tough luck with that.

Yeah-but im the type of person that will do what i can. I hear theres a thing called hair clonning comming out. I already started a reserve "fund" for that.

In healthy young subjects (n=15), mean plasma clearance of finasteride was 165 mL/min (range, 70-279 mL/min) and mean elimination half-life in plasma was 6 hours (range, 3-16 hours). Following an oral dose of finasteride in man (n=6), a mean of 39% (range, 32-46%) of the dose was excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites; 57% (range, 51-64%) was excreted in the feces.
The mean terminal half-life of finasteride in subjects >= 70 years of age was approximately 8 hours (range, 6-15 hours; n=12), compared with 6 hours (range, 4-12 hours; n=12) in subjects 45-60 years of age. As a result, mean AUC (0-24 hr) after 17 days of dosing was 15% higher in subjects >= 70 years of age
than in subjects 45-60 years of age (p=0.02).

you should factor in the side effects too...I know for a fact that Propecia have some side effects as far as sexual performence is concerned...I am not so sure of this one, though I wouldn't be suprised to have some side effects too.
Now you draw the line?More hair but less sex life?Or less hair but a stud?

Propecia and Proscar are the same thing, the chemical is finasteride. Proscar comes in 5mg tabs and is cheaper per dose to get those and split them up. Finasteride blocks conversion of test to DHT, decreased DHT can have an impact on libido. They're both Rx meds. Going bald could have an impact on libido for some men too
You don't have to be very accurate splitting them; .5 mg is just about as effective as 1mg per day for hair loss.

If I were to make a choice, I will go for less hair but a stud in a high demand ..
Takes the good with the bad..But good for me is libido,sex,stud appeal....screw the hair..

What good is a high sex drive if there is nobody to fuck? Some peeps dont look good without hair. You can remedy the sex drive problem by adding a light test to the mix.

OK Terra, just for you. You can have hair and a sex drive too I'll take the odds below. Plus, doesn't viagra cure everything?

For Propecia, a 1mg dose, even better:
1.2% of patients on PROPECIA and 0.9% of patients on placebo discontinued therapy because of a drug-related sexual adverse experience.

Adding test to remedy the sex drive on proscar is pointless. You're adding more dht, which would require more proscar to get the same amount of 5-ar inhibition, which would cause the same problem....

i used proscar for 1 year and my hair still fell out.(and my nuts hurt all the time?!) but then again i cycle test, dbol, winstrol, and fina to name a few. i use only topicals now and they work great. joe

Well i hope the proscar will help the thinning, or atleast stop it until something really good comes out.
