Proscar ... help!!

Cosuins prostate is still swollen. He says he can feel a lump/bulge behind his nut sack alot of the time and its seems to get very rigid and hard (upon arousal). He has run a few cycles without worrying about DHT conversion i guess and now knows that elevated test converts to DHT which can speed up balding and increase prostate growth. I am wondering if the 'hardness' is due to the size and while on the juice the muscles of the prostate became enlarged/over developped thus causing this discomfort. Hes been to a few doctors and got a couple digital exams and both doctors said it isnt anything out of the ordinary in regards to size but still got recomended to a specialist, that he wont see until march. anywho, if anyone has had these issues is proscar good to combat these symptoms? or could it be something else causing this bulge/discomfort. feedback is much appreciated , Roc

when an erection occurs the tissue between your scroutm and anus generally will become a little more firm due to the blood flow(take note on yourself when you get an erection). generally if a few physicians could not feel anything out of the ordinary with a digital rectal exam then he may be safe as far as an enlarged prostate goes. specailist will generally get a more thorough health history and organ centered examination for your cousin that may include an Doppler, ultrasound of testicles, perineum, and prostate, and labwork, .BPH is estrogen dependant though. they were correct in refering him to a specialist. I would not reccomend he self medicate with proscar. Did they check for hernia, that can manifest itself as similar sensations to BPH in some individuals. is he having any pain, increasing, decreasing, trouble urinating, incomplete urination, pain during erection, pain during a bowel movement, "heavy" feeling of scrotum or testicle, discharge ?

yes to all, except for the discharge. Also has a small lump above his left testicle that seemed to show itself around this time. I also have one but its never bothered me. All he had been running was anavar 40-mgs a day for 7 weeks, so I really cant see var hurting him too much. It was only his 2nd cycle of var in a matter of a year as well. He also does feel that heavy feeling in his scrotum/chode area, and his nuts are apparently hard and tender. This has been going on for almost 3 months now and has really messed him up alot, any more oppinions would be much appreciated.

could be a varicocele, or inflamation of epididimus. i am not the one who did the examination so its hard to make an assumption with my halfassed armchair diagnosis. If the physician did note a mass on the testicle i am supprised they did not order labwork and a ultrasound right away. the reason if this would be true would be if it was a varicocele which would be lower in priority compared to an testicular mass. yet his presentation would be atypical with a varicocele to have difficultl/pain urination. Did they do a quickk urinalysis?

yeah, like 5 , all came back clean. no prostatitis, no infection, no blood. Is there a chance it could be lymph nodes? i dont know where all the lymph nodes are but who knows, if they become swollen ive heard removal is sometime neccessary. Yeah, like when he lies down and put his legs up he can feel a bulge right towards the back of the scrotum/chode like a soft egg almost. some days its harder on one side than the other as well.

with all said, since his specialist visit in march, he should take note of any sings/symptoms of worsening condition and relay the info to his primary, if they occur. i am suprised that he could have not gotten an earlier appointment with a urologist.
