progestrone converts to estrogen??

ok i was watching on TV today (dont ask me how) a show about a woman who was having very painful peroids..anyway, she was at the doctor ,and the doctor was talking about estrogen and progestrone ..the doctor said progestrone converts to estrogen!!

if this is true then u will need anti-e's if taking deca


Anyone got any ideas on this??

progesterone is similar to estrogen but i don't think proges converts to estro unless females are different

Progesterone does not convert to estrogen, but augments its action in the body. It is possible that that is where the confusion comes from.

If i am not mistaken

some woman who have irregular periods take a progesterone pill (can't remember name wife had to use it ) to cause her to have a period. This happens for numerous reasons PCOS, high testosterone levels etc...once introduced into her system it causes an out of balance hormone condition which triggers a menstrual cycle to begin, not sure of the actual mechanisms.
