Problem with my knee

I woudl post this in the medical forum, but it'll obviously get more responses here, and quicker.

Anyway, it happened two days ago. My right knee started hurting when I'd put pressure on it. Not even unbearable. I can walk, but sometimes it feels like the joint is either locking up, or its very tense underneath the kneecap.

I haven't done much the last few days, so I didn't hurt it being active. I slept on my futon as a couch, so I may have fell asleep weird and put stress on it unnecessarily. I've done it before, but that's gone away within two days time.

I can't describe it exactly, but the pain is localized on the inside of my right kneecap, towards the middle. I don't know what this could be, if anything. I squat and feel nothing. It's just a bitch when I walk (heavy steps sometimes) and especially jog (like when I ran up to my front door to come in before - that hurt it).

If that's the same knee that you hurt squatting then you should see a doctor about it. If it's not the same knee then I don't know what to tell you and I don't think anyone else on the board can properly diagnose what it could be without testing your knee in person and seeing x-rays or whatever.

Quit getting hurt bro. Think strong. :worried:

This used to happen to me a lot.

Feels like a pressure inside the kneecap? Walking is alright, but hurts most when bearing load in a bent position, right?

This has happened to me in the past either when I banged my kneecap really hard on something or put too much load on the kneecap jerkily

Used to happen when I was a kid but not anymore since I built my quads up

It stopped hurting today, oddly. Unless I skip. Then it hurts. I'm sure that'll go away in another few days.

I guess it doesn't need to be checked out.

You really should get it looked at, but it sounds to me like a tracking problem. Stretching the quad (when warmed up) is a good way to alleviate some of the pain if it is in fact a problem with the kneecap being slightly misaligned. It is a pretty common problem with strength athletes.

Go to a specialist, but that is what it sounds like the way you described it.
