1. I wish they would admit that many people are not happy with their homosexuality or lesbianism, and that this conflict is internal, based on legitimate, intelligent religious and moral convictions--not just the result of a so-called "homophobic" society which is forcing guilt upon people who don't conform to a heterosexual ethic.
Stop throwing out the cheap, inaccurate labels like "internalized homophobia" to explain our motivations.
2. I wish they would acknowledge that homosexuals and lesbians can experience significant change in their sexual feelings and desires, even though they may never be totally heterosexual in their sexual thoughts and feelings.
Be honest enough to admit that such change is significant and genuine, even if it isn't complete.
3. I wish they would acknowledge that many former homosexuals and lesbians have found a greater measure of peace and satisfaction after leaving a gay or lesbian lifestyle than they ever experienced while embracing homosexuality.
Not all "ex-gays" are miserable, plotting how to secretly fulfill their homosexual lusts without being caught.
4. I wish they would acknowledge that many former homosexuals and lesbians have genuine joy in their marriages.
Most former gays and lesbians don't get married in a futile attempt to "escape" homosexuality; they marry as a natural consequence of resolving that issue in their lives.
5. I wish they would acknowledge that all people have as much right to pursue a heterosexual lifestyle as they do to pursue homosexuality.
Former homosexuals and lesbians should not be harassed and castigated by the gay community. But I have never heard any gay or lesbian leaders speak out against the violence (such as bomb threats and physical/verbal abuse) which some people perpetuate against Exodus ministries.
6. I wish they would stop equating our decision to leave homosexuality with "hatred" and "bigotry" against gays and lesbians.
We don't hate gays; we simply desire to live free of homosexuality. Don't put nasty labels upon our motives. That's being judgmental and unfair.
7. I wish pro-gay religious leaders would admit that their endorsement and promotion of monogamous homosexual relationships is a facade.
Many--probably most--men and women involved in long-term partnerships are not sexually monogamous, but gay churches don't discipline members for committing "adultery" outside their "gay marriage." Neither do they discipline gays or lesbians who have sex before entering into a "holy union" with their partner.

WODIN.. I know you are acting like this cause of your NEW BIG position... so it is cool. Plus you must be pissed about the El Camino...

Decem... You live in Ohio.. have you ever even seen a real live fag?

I'm extrememly happy with only dating 225-250 lbs muscular, intelligent men and not being in a monogamous relationship.

Wouldn't change a thing. Never been happier or um....busier.

Ryan.

This may be true, however there are some kick ass beer halls in Ohio!

#1 If anyone is unhappy, it is because of the years and bigotry that Falwell followers and narrow minded red necks have preached against their lifestyles. Why not ask a black person if she/he is unhappy with being their natural skin color? Otherwise, every gay person I have ever met was quite happy indeed.

#2 yeah, I guess you can force yourself to change. Just like straight people "force" themselves to follow Catholism, Amish-ism, or severe Baptist-ism that their families have followed. Why would someone want to set out and change themselves if they were happy in the first place? Come to think of it, heterosexual people can "force" themselves to change and find happiness in a gay lifestyle. What a bullshit statement.

#3 People who "leave" the gay lifestyle were never gay at all. Bisexual or just curious. Rebeling against something or just going through a phase. I have never met a gay person who did not leave the heterosexual lifestyle and find much more happiness and fullfilment in the gay world than they could ever obtain in the straight one. Works both ways you know...

#4 I wish straight people would accept and acknowledge that many "former straights" find "joy" in their heterosexual divorces. They do not just assume a gay lifestyle because they are upset their marriages ended. They are much more happy in a gay partnership than a married life. It really comes down to who makes you happy. No matter what sex they are.

#5 I wish that they would acknowledge that is ok for someone to pursue a homosexual lifestyle. And former "straight" people are not fired, insulted, shunned away and disowned by their families, employers, or peers. I wish straight people would speak out about the harassment encountered by people who decide to be true to themselves and pursue their own happiness, even if it is in the same sex gender.

#6 I wish that they would stop refering to desires to leave heterosexuality as "ungodly, immoral, deviant, criminal". Some people just have a desire to live happily. Life is too short to live by someone else's definition of what happiness and "normality" consists of.

#7 I wish that Pro Straight leaders would admit that their hatred and bigotry is just a facade for their own inner qualities. There are actual many monogamous homosexual marriages. And then there are many heterosexual marriages that are not monogamous. I wish that every red neck sleaze ball who cheated on his wife, would allow her to do the same. Saying all gays are sexually promiscous is like saying all straights are poor dressers. It all comes down to how YOU conduct YOURSELF. Straight churches teach their members to love thy neighbor - but only if they are "normal". Straight churches are preached to by men who are embezzlers, swindlers, HOMOSEXUALS who hire call boys, child molesters, cheaters, and crooks. The entire time the congregation is sitting there like dumb sheep refusing to acknowledge it. Jimmy Baker, Oral Roberts, Swaggart, the list goes on. I guess you have to be an expert in every sin to preach about it.

#8 It sounds like someone is obsessed with the gay lifestyle. Claiming to be a "former" homosexual is not covering up for the fact that there are ZERO attractive females out in Paulding County.

Right on Jae, very well written. Dballer you should listen to what Jae has said.....the truth lies therein.

the homosexual lifestyle is deviant from the way we are designed---this is obvious---many just choose to not acknowledge this fact or spin the hell out of it until they think it favors their perverse actions.

I don't know anyone who would argue that homosexual behavior is not a deviation from the statistical norm.

The question is whether deviation from the norm is sufficient to characterize something as "perverse" or otherwise pathological.

And then one has to question if the deviation, even if pathological, is a good reason to deny civil rights. When you think of the nearly limitless ways people deviate from norms, you could end up calling nearly everyone perverse. Of course, this was just the argument of National Socialism: deviants -- from the crippled and the Jewish to the homosexual and the gypsy -- must be condemned. Why, in China, even being female is a pathology.

But of course this is just "spin." We don't have to think about the implications of statements that conflate deviation and perversity.

but deviant is in the eye of the beholder. I assume you're referring to the bible. But what if someone doesn't believe in the bible.

See I could really care less about gay people. I've got too much other shit to worry about, plus homosexuality doesn't really affect me in any way.

How does it affect you?

Actually, we should consider this. The truth for example is the norm. But look at Bill Clinton for example. Progressive minded people like yourself surely understand that Clintons deviancy from telling the truth with his "spin" should hold him completely liable and thus completely accountable to the spirit of the law-since itself is also in correlation with the civil liberties that you hold so valuable.

I'm not interested in defending Clinton's lying, but I do think you might have some difficulty demonstrating that lying about sex is a significant deviation from the norm. :)

As I recollect, Clinton was held accountable. He was impeached under the law and the outcome was in his favor. Ironically, his accusers fell because many of them turned out to be guilty of the crime of which he was accused.

my statement that homosexuality is deviant from the way we were designed is one that leans more towards common sense.
I was refering to how we are all designed. speaking of how reproduction works and how fertilization works.

I would call what I was saying based on common sense--not necesarily the Bible, although my beliefes are based on the Bible

If the President of the United States lying in court under Oath is not what you consider significant-then I guess we will have to leave it at that. Very interesting point of view that you have-I may add.

I already said I wasn't interested in defending Clinton. Clearly it was not an offense that merited his removal from office in the eyes of Congress, as it turned out. If he is to be held otherwise accountable in other courts, let them prosecute him. Nixon received immunity from prosecution for much graver offenses. Maybe Clinton won't.

Clinton is not gay, Smalls, but he was certainly the queerest president we've ever had.

he's a horndog for the ladies as has been shown...

and who cares if the president smoked weed? it's not like he was a cokehead....

actually i think all politicians are inherently evil.

but really, i don't give a rat's ass if he didn't go to nam or did weed. i

horndog MB, HORNDOG is the word... or was that bird is the word... sorry, peewee's playhouse is echoing around in my head. :)

ok, let's for argument's sake say that homosexuality goes against "nature"...

WHO FUCKING CARES? if someone would rather put a peepee in their bumholio then it's their god given right to choose what they like. who are YOU to judge? be happy, do your own thing... live life in a peaceful, non-hating way and i think you've got it made. accept that other people find happiness in different ways and do your own thing and be happy.

you are obviously putting words into my mouth. there are individuals who are heterosexuals who cannot reproduce and their others who choose not to.

fact is men and women are designed to have sex and reproduce with the opposite gender. do you not realize that?

Homosexuality effects me b/c it contributes to the moral decay of America and the globe.
Also, because it is wrong.

As said before, I dont hate homosexuals---I just am strongly opposed to their lifestyle, and it seems that a few here cannot respect that.

I respect MB and Ryan and others as being fellow humans and if I saw them on the street I would shake their hand and introduce myself and be their friend.

I have had homosexual friends before, but they new that I did not condone their lifestyle---but I also did not brow beat 'em about it either.

sorry huntmaster, I didn't mean to put words in your mouth.

explain to me this, how does homosexuality contribute to the moral decay of america and the world? it has existed since the beginning of mankind, yet society still thrives. I'd say there are more prevalant things that are causing the decay of society, and I wouldn't put homosexuality at the top of the list. But that's me.

So you tell my why, please. And don't say because it's wrong. that's merely an opinion. I would like facts, if possible.

Really so our President is using his office as a pick-up bar instead of doing his job.

YOU ARE WRONG. If he did it a hotel-then it would be hers. If he is doing it in the WhIte house. Then breaking laws.

news flash smalls-Bill Clinton broke the law. You are not suppose to lie under oath. Please ask you teachers about this.

i love how you blatantly dismiss anything anyone else has to say that differs from your opinion. I WIN!! next please! LOL

i can see that you wrote it in a fit of passion because it's a bit hard to make sense out of in parts there homeslice.

ok first of all, he wasn't my president - not that that matters.

second of all, he did his job despite being a horndog. i'm not saying his lusty ways are super duper coolio, i'm saying that the guy is smart (rhodes scholar smart) and did his job pretty well.

just because he banged some chick(s?) in the white house doesn't mean it's a capital offense. it's grounds for divorce maybe, but not punishable by law in terms of his job. shit, lots of assholes cheat on their spouses habitually but i don't see the country saying it's in the country's best interests to put him out of a job for it or in jail.

if anything clinton should be disbarred for lying under oath... was he yet? i sure expect it.

as MB aptly pointed out, lots of his opponents ended up falling because, like i said, all politicians are inherently evil - so just find one that can do the job for four years and then pass the torch to another puppet.

Once again, does it say anywhere in my post that Homosexuality is 'number 1 on the list'????
Noper
It is only one of the many.

One main reason why the concept of homosexuality contributes to moral decline of society is that it perverts the minds of young children and others with very impressionable minds.

The global push to make homosexuality acceptable and the immense amount of exposure on TV and the airwaves is an attempt to infiltrate the minds of the young.

NB---to answer your last question---I dont know, I lean towards saying yes.
Not to say that is easy to overcome by any means.
We are all born with weaknesses that we must overcome.

I was triing to illustrate the role of biology in this argument.

If you are talking about the Gaia Hypothesis, you could as well argue -- as some do -- that homosexuality is nature's way of curbing population since the underlying principle is that the earth self-regulates to support life. Homosexual interactions occur throughout nature, though we haven't made, um, penguins subject to identity (and a future in hell) on this basis...There have been some intelligent critiques of the Hypothesis from serious Christian theologians.

Anyway, I'm not interested in arguing about the evil that homosexuality does to nature and culture again. We can agree to disagree. I believe my signature includes a quote from you -- don't actually recall if it's you -- and it well displays the sentiment usually beneath these discussions.

the president is on the job 24/7... when he sleeps with his own wife *shudders thinking of clinton sex* then he's having sex on the job too.

you can't hold any politician to a higher standard when they are lower on the food chain than the rest of us.

btw i'm not missing the point, you're changing your argument.

if homosexuality is a choice, then sure you can change it. but I THINK it's genetic. We're both speculating.

When you check into this thread, answer me this. Would you allow your daughter to marry a "reformed" homosexual?

Next on Oprah?

Actually, I don't agree that homosexuality is entirely genetic. In the 19th Century, there were countless sermons about the "temptation" of sex with members of your own gender. It was well understood -- and correctly, I think -- that anyone had this potential. And this is easily demonstrable in Kinsey's data.

That does NOT mean that one chooses to become a "homosexual." Now that a particular sexual act has come to represent an entire identity, the culture actually assigns this label. It's not very different from the way certain behaviors come to be indentified with male or female. We don't choose to play with toy trucks instead of dolls, if we are children, but the culture imposes these gender-normative rules upon us. Just as culture preserves this gender binarism, it preserves the normativity of heterosexual-homosexual binarism.

In New York at the turn of the 20th century, the male Italian community was infamously bisexual and there was a widely accepted "gay" minority that functioned in mainstream society. It was only the pathologizing and criminalizing of the particular sex act -- your sex act makes you something called a homosexual -- that caused this very open pansexual culture to disappear.

1. I am not arguing anything. I was triing to illustrate the assertion that homosexuality is deviant. Fuk man-my brain is kinda mushy now. You tell me. Is it deviant?

2.) We both know were we stand on the moral side of things. However, I will say that you are completely off base if you think that I hate homosexuals. But I am pretty sure-that you will never believe me. Actually, thats too bad because we are both very anayltical people and probably find humor in alot of the same things.

I already agreed it's deviant but questioned the conflation of deviance and perversity.

I'm happy to agree to disagree. I don't expect people to like homosexuality; it's irrelevant to me. I think it will always challenge the dominant culture. What I find objectionable is, as we've already discussed, the denial of civil rights and privileges on the basis of personal distaste -- the valencing of personal morality in a way that uses legal instruments to deny other people freedom to love as consensenting adults.

This needed repeating.

As far as homosexuality contributing to the decay of America. Who are you kidding? The world is a much better place because of homosexuals. Straight art? Straight culture? You got to be kidding me.

I don't know about the rest of you, but huntmaster sounds like one of these "former" homosexuals himself. Why are you even on the internet? Don't you have a boycott to attend somewhere?

And calling Jae a peter pumper? The guy is as straight as they get. He and Big Buck are the two most liberal and open minded people on the board.

As always..... it is always the people who are insecure about their sexuality that heaps negativity on gays. You would think at this time and age, people would grow up. Apparently not.

WTF was this whole thread about anyway?

Something about Spentagn and Muscleaids going on a date?

I for one really don't see how anyone else's being gay affects me excepts that it gives me less work!!

My only problem is the "flaunting" of it. And to nip all the BS responses in the bud, I'm not too happy when I see heterosexuals pawing and groping each other in public either.

What's all the rainbow shit about? Let's acknowledge that some people (as evidenced in this thread) find homosexuality repulsive and revolting. Would you walk around showing people a festering, pus-filled wound if you had one (the analogy here is that they both are revolting to some people)? So why the rainbow bumper stickers, etc... unless the purpose is to rub it in the face of the "establishment"? Let's face it, a fair amount of homosexual "behaviour" is designed to ellicit reaction, be it negative or positive.

I'm extrememly happy with only dating 225-250 lbs muscular, intelligent men and not being in a monogamous relationship.

Wouldn't change a thing. Never been happier or um....busier.

Ryan.

Prooves that gays like to go around sticking their dicks in a mans bung hole and have a new guy every night. This is why AIDS is so widespread

Oh, I see. You misspelled it and failed to capitalize it.

I began laughing uncontrollably after that one. I don't know why - it was just so damn funny.

Note: Proof that any post containing the words "gay people" or "I'm not racist... BUT" will achieve 100 replies within 12 hours.

Why do you so ignorantly continue to attribute the current spread of AIDS to gays when the reality couldn't be further from the truth? The current, rampant spread of AIDS in both Africa and China are, for the most part, largely attributable to those practicing the heterosexual lifestyle.

Non-monogamous relationships can be just as safe as monogamous relationships are. Clearly, many straight men and women are not happy in monogamous relationships since their are many cases where AIDS has been spread from a cheating husband/wife to his/her spouse.

Finally, haven't you learned yet that non-monogamy is natural whereas monogamy is not?

WE LIVE IN AMERICA!!! NOT CHINA OR AFRICA!!!

Dballer, all that seems to matter to you is the smalll, contained room that you live in--that much is very clear. The rest of the world is simply irrelevant to you.

I am amazed by your "Christian" values. You selectively preclude millions of human beings who don't share your lifestyle, and only approve of those who share your lifestyle---sounds a lot like Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson to me.

Do you know "Reverand" Falwell, Dballer? Has he prayed with you? If not, his website is easily assessible, or you can contact the religious institution he presides over. Prayer lines are also readily available. It's my understanding that the hallmark of Christianity is love and acceptance....two concepts that seem foreign to you.

Assessible isn't a word Ryan. And the correct spelling, assessable, doesn't appear to be the correct word anyhow. Seeing as how writing is such a key component of litigation, I'd say you're fucked.

Dear Ryan,

It may come as no suprise to you that I am 100% White American Male. I care for AMERICAN people BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!!! How can you thrive when you give your family bread away?
This is the diffrence between us.. and I am glad that here is clear.. cause there are alot of confused people out there. Here you and I can help them make a choice.. they can side with you.. the liberal democrat.. or me.. the Right Wing Conservative.

With you they get to give away their hard earned cash to starving people who want them dead... they can accept lewd sexual conduct in public. They can continue with the uprise or the demoralization of humanity and the morals that founded this country..

Or they can work hard for their families.. give their cash to their kids and to help preserve the ideals and the hopes that your forefathers fought and died for. They can walk down the streets and not worry about their kids being picked up by some pervert.
They can accept the mistakes of the past and learn from it.. instead of lying to try to conceal it.

Ryan's heart lies in one of those places, if not both. Too bad his body lies in mens' bedrooms.
BWAHAHA LMAO at that one! He won't live there though, no 225 lb homosexuals.

Oh yes, Ryan, are we also going to include the spread of AIDS to 9 month-olds in Africa because that's also heterosexual spread if you want to count it that way.

No that word is the word I intended to use, meaning Dballer can choose to assess the Falwell site to see if it suits his needs, if he so chooses. As for the "i" being included in the word as opposed to an "a", I stand corrected.

Why don't you look at the statistics on the spread of AIDS in the United States, I bet you'll be surprised as to how many new cases are not attributable to gays.

Ok, your sentence structures suggests damage to Wernike's area. I stand corrected.

I will bet he is not suprised to find out the majority of cases are not spread from transfusions or drug use!!!

Well, why don't we just stop the conjecture.....I'll look for the recent AIDS/Hiv statistics.

In all seriousness, I'm sure mb could give us those fairly easily. Or a friend of his could.

By the way, Spentagn, I just noticed that you misspelled "argument" in another thread by spelling it as "arguement."

Remember, good spelling skills are essential.
