But HOW could other people have known about it, and let it continue...and don't give me that bullshit about how the Catholic church prefers to solve problems internally...HOW HOW HOW could people let this happen? And how can people claim that this shit doesn't make them lose some faith in the Catholic church? I would like to have that cardinal alone in a room for a few minutes with some brass knuckles.

you know what was fucked up? they had to fly all the high ranking preists and cardinals to the vatican to come up with a no tolerance policy? uh.... NO SHIT!!!! Then they came up with some shit saying that the preists weren't pedophiles, because they were going after adolecents not children. WHO CARES!?!?! Then they're talking about maybe letting preists who molested boys a long time ago to stay in the Church, because they've repented. Fucked up shit.

the priests in boston (i think it was boston wasnt it) were arrested....i presume?
its annoying to say the least that these people can hide behind relgion to evade capture. there have been cases of the same thing happening in mosques over here so its not just the church, i just think the church gets it publicised more

be sure to catch the article...only ONE priest was arrested in boston, as I understand it and all of the conspirators, i.e. the cardinal, are being ignored. They should all be strung up, as I mentioned before, Mussolini-style.

I AM NOT IN ANY WAY CONDONING CHILD RAPE, I JUST THINK WE NEED TO SLOW DOWN AND BELIEVE BASED ON EVIDENCE AND NOT HEARSAY.

I see what you're saying, but since there have been so many interviews in the news and papers lately with confessed former-priest molesters (I believe Dateline and Newsweek both had one? I could be wrong...) The whole concept is being looked at rather then just the accusations...when I say I'm pissed off at hearing this new headline, it's because it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse...trust me, I DO have some faith in the law still, innocent until proven blah blah blah...I just have no faith in an institution that hides these monsters...and it happened many times, in many different places. So many things are corrupted in this country, the fact that our children can be too and people want to hide it makes me want to vomit.

I agree - these kind of allegations should be looked into with a magnifying glass. And the whole concept is just horrifying - men in power exploiting their position and the church covering it up.
I just want to make sure we temper our outrage towards this particular priest, since all he has against him that we know of is an accusation about something that happened 20 years ago.

Just to clarify: Child molesters are not usually homosexuals, even if they are molesting children of the same sex. It's a whhhooolllle other thing, it has nothing to do with being gay.
