Price being equal, dextrose or maltodextrin?

trying to decide which one to add to my post-workout shake(this is the only time I would use it)

is there really any difference between the two, save for perhaps taste?
 
just the taste really. I use maltodextrin because I don't like
my protein shakes TOO sweet, plus the whey protein I have
tastes pretty good on its' own with water, so about 40-50 grams of maltodextrin gives it a nice smooth 'sweetness'

but it's all up to your sweet-tooth

50% mato + 50% dextrose
 
am i missing somethign here? Arent these completely different types of carbs? Malto is a complex if i'm not mistaken while dextrose is a 100 gi simple carb ... right? I would never put all malto in my postworkout.. the whole reasoning behind adding dextrose is to induce an insulin spike. Mixing the two would extend the spike and aid in transporting nutrients to the muscles.
 
maltodextrins are very easily absorbed and digested

though it is a long chain of glucose it is not a low GI carb
