You know. I have to agree. I have been asked before why I would put a picture of my face on the internet or on here, in particular. My response is that I don't wear a burka in real life where thousands of people see me. Why would I refuse to show my face on a website for a few hundred?

I've had some seriously negative experiences. On my alumni board I went to a gathering before one of our basketball games. The next day there was a "_______ IS GORGEOUS!" thread. That alone was humiliating. I really don't like being the focus of that kind of attention. Then the women on the site went cold on me, started spreading nasty rumors about me, etc.

Thing is, people are more gloves off on the internet. I'm not interested in ass kissing, and I'm not interested in someone pointing out my flaws because, since I posted it on the internet, I was asking for it (ie: the treatment rachel has gotten). I don't hide...anyone I have an established rapport with has seen my picture, but it's always been sort of a "here's a face to a name" kind of thing. Which isn't to say I didn't appreciate some of the nice things said afterward. But none of it was overboard and ridiculous.

On top of all that, I'm not going to even take a .01% chance that a coworker is on here lurking and would see it and report to my bosses that I post on a steroids board during work hours.
