Why do some precontest diets say to cut out protein powders when dieting, claiming the powders make you smooth. Anyone else know of this? How about egg whites?

Also, if protein isn't digested, is it just sent out the other end, like fiber? In that case it may be good to use a poorly digested protein (such as rice or vegetable protein powder) when you are on a diet and have eaten your allotted calories (of good protein), but are still starving. You could have a protein shake with bad protein and some vegetables--and not really be absorbing too many calories. Am I right?
