I'm getting wrist surgery on Wednesday and I'm being a huge chicken about it. It'll only take about an hour to take out a cyst and seal up whatever's seeping all sorts of joint fluid out when I bend my hand back. No lifting for 6 weeks. I've never had anything like this before and I'm really really nervous. I'll be off work Wednesday and Thursday for sure but after that, I'm not sure how I'll feel. Just hoping it'll go well and heal fast. Thanks.
 
you'll be fine... think positive thoughts. i'll send some positive thoughts your way because i think God has me on ignore.

You'll do fine....

If it helps, my wife had the same type of surgery (from what it sounds like), she was a little sore, but it healed quite nicely and quickly.....

I bet not. THey never let me have any fun. Though when I got my tonsils out 2 years ago everyone was running around showing them to everybody because they had never seen any that freaky big. I saw them but don't remember because I reacted to anesthesia poorly and it got ugly.

Raina, darling, big prayers coming your way. (And just so you know - I have a secret special "in" with God so he pretty much has to pay extra attention to anything I pray about.)

My favorite angel will be with you on Wednesday. If you want to call he by name just say, "Hi, Thia!'
 
nah. they probably would take the cyst and take it away to chop up and stuff

im sure you;ll be fine. just so what they tell you to :)

In an out in about 5 hours if all goes as planned. The cyst is wrapped around the tendon and messing with the artery so it's a bit tricky. Plus I'm a chicken.

man, you should ask the surgeon if you can keep it. Then you'd have your own pet cyst.

Just don't ever drop the jar, cause man that would stink.
 
My dad says it's not a cyst-- that it's me growing a new appentage because I'm part starfish. Everyone at work is calling it my dew claw. I think I'm evolving. Suppose I could keep it and auction it on ebay??

I don't think you will die to complications while having wrist surgery. They might have to chop off your arm though if they mess up. Now that would suck bigtime. I'm j/k. You will be ok. If the surgeons mess up then I will give them the beating of their lives and you can tell them I said that. :D
 
You are just growing an extra finger so you can type faster to keep up with all the PM's asking for pictures..


The extra finger will also likely help out with other "tasks" that you seem to frequently partake in..


Honestly, you will be fine Raina.

No way that God would take you away from us all..

It is a cruel world, but not THAT cruel.

Awww!! Raina, you'll be OK hon. Just keep talking during the procedure or focus your thoughts on some nice thoughts and it'll be over before you know it. Good luck!

Just to make doubl sure - you didn't get bitten by some radioactive bug or anything lately? If you did you might want to put off the surgery till you are sure you aren't developing super powers. This dew claw thing just may be the beginning of your crime fighting career as StarfishGirl.

It'll be cool once the full transformation takes place. I'll bet you end up being able to breath underwater and talk to dolphins and stuff.

i just shot you some positive vibes.

i think the worst part is no lifting after for at least six weeks. that would suck so much. imagine if you ended up with a joint injury that kept you from hardcore lifting for life....i don't want to think about it.
