genarr, with all due respect, why did you post a smart ass answer like that? i was asking a serious question. when an elite athlete asks a question about one specific aspect of his training and preparation, why would you assume that he was neglecting the fundamentals of his training?
i am a serious athlete works on his balance, power and speed every day. usually twice a day as a matter of fact. i have an undefeated record and a respected regional title. i plan to keep both of them, AND take it to the next level.
are you trying to say that steroids do not increase stength and power? my opponents are training like animals too, the're juiced too. i try to get every advantage i can researching the most advanced training methods and YES the safest and most effective ways to chemically enhance myself. thats just part of the game nowadays.
have you ever stepped into the octagon? once you've been there, you spare no efforts to be prepared the next time you go in. i get HURT if i'm not properly prepared in there, so PLEASE, serious responses only!
I apologize for grouping you with the typical aspiring fighter that asks this question. The vast majority of the time it's guys looking for courage in a pill or an injection.
This is obviously not the case with you.
Have I stepped into the Octagon? No. Do I know and trained with people that have? Yes. I have competed as both an amateur boxer and submission wrestler. At the time I didn't use any gear, at that level any time spent in the gym weight training would have been better spent in the ring or on the mat.
Yes, I agree when you get to the top levels chemical enhancement will help.
My suggestions for you would be either:
Anavar
Halo
EQ
Primo
The first two best for strength gains. The last two lesser strength gains, but very tendon friendly. Which as I'm sure you know is a good thing when you're in a sport were your joints are tested constantly.
No Winstrol, no Dianabol.
Winstrol is very hard on the joints. I'm sure you have some joint issues as most submission fighters do. Try a few weeks of winstrol and get back to me about how much worse they are then.
Dianabol pumps will kill your training. Take downs are no fun if you're back hurts from the pump most people get when on it. Not to mention calf pumps and not being able to hold a neck crank because your biceps hurt from the pump.
Maybe test suspension the day of your match. Definitely try this one out in training to see how it effects you. You don't want any surprises fight day.
I'm assuming you don't wish to put on a lot of weight. Just strength and lean muscle.
Good luck,
