Power clean form

When performing power cleans, can you start off in sumo-deadlift form??? I have a hard time trying to do conventional.

Also... anyone know of a good site with pics/vids that explains how to do exercises like cleans and snatches?
 
No! How high can you jump with a sumo stance? Nuff said! :)
The goal is to pull high, catch low, so obviously you want to start and pull with a close stance and jump put wider to rack it. But not too wide.

If you can't do power clean from the floor, do them from the hang or from blocks, put the bar just below the knee level

Like CCJ suggested, give them a go starting from the hang, just below knee level.

I don't see the need to be performing the full power clean, and I think I remember reading CT say something about that re: his athletes too? (CCJ?)
 
yeap from the floor to knee is just a deadlift.

But you need to do 3 types -
from the hang uses the stretch reflex much like jumping,

from the floor or low blocks works more on acclerating power (ie acclerating a moving object).

While working from high blocks (set above the knee) works on starting strength power.
