Potassium...Klor-con 10MEQ...Help

Behemoth

Aberration
Platinum
I am currently cycling clen two weeks on and two weeks off.

Starting at 100mcg reaching 160 mcg and then back down to 100 mcg.

I have used twinlab potassium in the past, however, I have a prescription for Klor-con 10MEQ with a few refills on it.

From what I have found out it is 1500 mg of potassium. There are warnings on the bottle about not laying down for at least 30 minutes after taking it....

Just looking for a little input from the Medical types...

Thanks for your help.

I wonder why nobody never answer to potassium threads....is that nobody know a damn about it? there's something secret about it? Potassium is an extremly important mineral for the body and most of the people don't even get the 25% of the daily dose the body needs. I have several questions and confusions about what type and doses of each to take. Potassium chloride, Potassium gluconate, Potassium citrate....looking for info on the web only make things more difficult to understand. Seems that there is in fact a cover up about potassium worldwide in order to keep common health problems going...lol

okay im going to assume that youre wanting ot take the potassium with the clen as a supp to avoid cramping and otherwise keep normal-ish electrolyte levels

im not a huge fan of people supplementing potassium without having a real need to do so (ie blood tests showing low potassium) because while cramping/electrolyte imbalances are annoying (even though your body just uses sodium a bit more and so avoids this most of the time anyway) having high potassium can trip off a heart attack, particularly in predisposed individuals.

in the case of supplementing something like clen, id be a lot more comfortable with people either using an over the counter form of potassium (not the high-ish dose of that prescription drug...even though that isnt going to do much harm in a healthy person with normal kidneys anyway...but the "do not lie down" part is irritating also) or using a total electrolyte replacement powder type preparation (gastrolyte or whatever you guys sell over there) because it does the job its meant to do without being as problematic

soooooooo long story short, unless you can convince me of a real need for you to be taking the prescription drug, i think its smarter to stay off it. there are hassles/risks that go with taking it that frankly return zero benefit, so why bother

cheers

Very good info, the only time i ever give potassium is in IV solution usually D51/2 with 20K . Or if labs come back and K is low doc will prescribe PO supplementation. or if they are on a non K sparing diuretic...Choosing a diet rich in potassium would be a better alternative...again unless he has a certain medical condition where diet alone would not be enough...Yea dysrhythmias can suck from electrolyte imbalances :worried:

Great responses. I appreciate the effort.

Karma coming your way.
