For almost 20 years now I’ve been collecting postcards/stamps from around the world. I’ve established many pen pals.
For some reason just this year I’ve been having problems with getting postcard and letters from my friends in Romania.
I would write them but not get a response by USPS?
I became quite concerned after this had happened twice. Usually our correspondences only took 5 to 7 days.
So the first time I sent an E-mail just to find the postcard was just delayed by a couple of the usual days (it took 2 weeks).
The second time I was more patient and waited almost 2 months. Still nothing came and the collector series of stamps were out.
So I became quit concerned when I heard nothing.
I E-mailed again and was asked to be a little more patient. So I waited another month and still nothing.
I E-mailed again and gave a friend address because I have to get the whole collectors set of stamps (my monies worth).
I was told no problem and a fresh set of stamps were sent and received within 5 days.
I have read a lot about people having troubles receiving their postcards/stamps from Romania.
So I just wanted to say if you’re a stamp/postcard collector like myself.
Sometimes it pays to be patient and communicate with your pen pay “ at least the one I’m referring to here.”
They are more than happy to work things out with you!
At least this has been my experience.
One thing I have learned thru out my years of collecting.
When communicating you need to be polite and to the point without being accusatory or nasty.
It creates hard feelings and remember they are holding your money!
Please don’t ask me questions as you will have to find your own suppliers for postcards/ stamps.
I also am not connected with Romania except I that is one of the places I collect stamps and postcards from.
