Post Workout Vitamins

Dieanabol

New member
Just wondering, what Vitamins are essential to take post workout. Im not using the term Vitamins sarcastically to describe anadrol and dbol. I mean, the B's, C's....Which ones do you guys take after your workouts?

Vitamin C and E are good post workout, but I would just take a multi-V in the morning. I like those packs with 5 separate pills. I would focus on protien and BCAA post training with some simple sugars to replenish glycogen stores

As long as you're getting plenty of E with your multi, then you don't really need to be concerned about taking it immediately post-workout. (Since it's fat soluble, it stays around longer than the water soluble vitamins.)

You do want to get vitamin C and the B's with your post workout shake, though. (Vitamin C to counteract the free-radicals produced by intense exercise, to help lower cortisol like T.R. said, and for a host of other reasons. The B's are important for metabolism and protein utilization as well.)

Try to make sure that your post-workout B-&-C pill is a capsule, instead of a tablet, so that it dissolves as quickly as possible and can get into your system at the same time as your whey, dextrose, or whatever else you have in your shake.

I personally use Twinlab's "Stress B-Complex Caps". The label states to take 2 caps, but one is just fine, and will still provide:
C - 500mg
Thiamin - 25mg
B2 - 25mg
Niacin - 50mg
B6 - 25mg
Folic Acide - 200mcg
B12 - 125mcg
Biotin - 50mcg
Pantothenic Acid - 125 mcg

Ive been taking the Stress B complex bu good neighbor pharmacy for a few weeks now, and have noticed its effects. Actually started taking it after a buildup of alot of stress and so forth. Its given me alot more energy and increased tolerance to stress. Aside from that I figure Fish Oil is also good to take

thanks, i guess i just wanted to know if more vits are needed on top of the shakes (which a lot of times already have most of what you need). i appreciate the replies.

any more ideas?

I've read of 800-1000 IU of E and 500 mg C prior to be good...as far as B's and that i add them anyway..... there is no way a mutli -V has enough E...the best i have seen is 400iu over 9 tabs and its was all alpha tocopherol...you need mixed (i.e. gamma detla beta tocopherol) And as far as C wahtever.....ester C isnt any better than reg or buffered calbium ascorbate (calcium buffers ascorbic Acid) The study i read was done by Carlson first ...showing that msucle damage was lowered by the E and a seperate study showing muscle damages further decreased by C too. Ill get the links if i can or ill scan the journal article. But atleast those 2....B's i dont think i get enough in my diet or multi and you piss them out like crazy anyway so i take them split over my multi and afte i work out. I wouldnt go with the fat right after but def after the 3 hour window post workout though or with your first real meal. As far as more vits....antioxidants like Alpha Lipoic could help ( as well for BLood sugar) Xastaxthin is another water and fat soluble(like alpha lipoic) antioxidant which i think helped. I dont know try them out if your interested didnt work for my friend but for me i felt less soreness after higher intesity stuff.
