Post workout drink

Say I have a post workout drink, like powerade, and im in a cutting diet. Do I count the powerade stats(like 50 carbs) into my macros?

It is a semantic question.

If you workout more, I believe you will need more carbs per week. Therefore, your macronutrient ratio will change if your workout volume changes. If you don't count post-workout carbs, then your macronutrient won't necessarily change. You still have to take the post-workout shake into account, however.

It all depends on how you want to abstract it / think about it.

The way I deal with them is best explained by the difference between my workout and non-workout days.

On workout days the only variation from non-workouts days is the addition of a liquid post-workout shake.

I don't consider the calories important overall. However, the use of a post-workout shake is vital. I follow John Berardi's suggestions as to the composition of my shake (somewhere on T-Mag).
