For you guys that workout late in the evenings what kind of carbs do you eat for recovery w/o putting on the extra fat?

Hi,

I always take the same post workout meal independently of the workout beeing late in the evening. That is dextrose with whey protein.
Putting extra fat will depend to my knowledge more of the total caloric intake of the entire day.
I do that and i am cutting with results now.

After working out hard your glycogen storage will low. Your muscles will take carbs it needs and strore them as glycogen.

ALA is also a great supplement which may help increase your muscles ability to hold more glycogen.

How much do you weigh and how many carbs do you take in post workout?

Strong Island

strong island i intake about 75 grams of carbs it all comes from a 1/2 milk 1/2 water EAS MASS shake. That's o.k isn't it? I am currently on maintience but I was thinking about Keto diet with Yohimburn and NYC stack in about 3 weeks? How many carbs should i intake when I am on a CLEAN cut cycle. Stats 20 yrs 5'11 203lbs 10%bf. Just got of a bulk cycle bout a month ago and still bulking for another week just gradually lowering my calories so I don't loose all my gains. sorry for all the questions

Good idea to eat enough when coming off cycle.

There are different methodologies when it comes to post workout shakes. 75 is appropriate. If you were bulking you could up it and when you cut you can cut it down a little.

There are hundreds of diets, which will all work if done properly. The key is to have a caloric deficit and to eat quality carbs, so you don't have your insulin levels all over the place. It seems many on this board prefer to take their bodyweight and multiply by 10 to 12 to get their calories.

203 x 10 = 2030 cal. or 203 x 12 = 2436

You don't have to worry too much about losing muscle since you will be "on"

If you choose an isocaloric this would be around 170 g of carbs. Or 203 g if you use 12 cal per lb.

Or you could do a low carb/high protein/low far diet. And every few days have a high carb day.

It basically a personal choice.
