inj in my quad this time instead of glute. Im pretty sure i hit a nerve on the way in. Felt an electric sort of jolt and my quad twitched, but i wouldnt describe it as painful. So i kept pushing the needle since it didnt hurt. I aspirated and no blood came, but i didnt get the bubble that came out when i aspirated in my quad and that i've heard is supposed to come up when u aspirate. So i aspirated again, still no blood and no bubbles so i went ahead. Is that dumb or is it normal to sometimes not really see anything come up when u aspirate? And how far back do u go on the plunger? I only went like an 1/10 of a cc before i saw blood the first time and a bubble the second time on my first inj.

i usually see a tiny bubble when i aspirate.....but as long as you didnt see any blood i would say you are fine......

but have fun walkin around for about the next week.......my first quad inj i hit a nerve....couldnt walk without a limp for at least a whole week.....

You might not have hit a nerve actually..... The Quads are notorious for twitching while advancing the needle..... As for aspirating, when you pull back on the plunger, it should be like pulling on a tight rubber band.... When you stop, the plunger goes back down to where it started from.... If youre getting air in the syringe, it might be because the needle isn't screwed on all the way.... You shouldn't be getting air in the syringe when you pull back on the plunger during a normal aspiration..... Think about it, there's no air in your quad, so why would you get air in the syringe?
