Possible Abcess?

Friday I injected 1.5cc's of fina into my right delt. When I was about halfway in a had a muscle spasm. I went ahead and finished the shot while aspirating, no blood at all. Not even when pulling the needle back out. About 24hrs later I notice a baseball size red spot about 3-4 inches below the injection site, mainly on the bicep but part of the lower shoulder. It looks like a sunburn and is pretty warm to touch. I wake up this morning and nothing has changed. Is there a cream or something I can put on this or is it an abcess?

Is their a lump in the middle of the bruise? It sounds like you hit a nerve. Have you injected fina in the delts before.? Why are you injecting 1.5cc of fina? is that ed or eod? I think you will be fine, just apply a cold pack on the site of the pain. Dont put any cream it might irratate the site even more.

No lump, hopefully it just turns into a massive bruise soon. This is only my second time injecting into the right delt, did 1.5cc's previously of fina. I am doing 1.5cc's eod, which isn't really a high dose is it? I'm cutting right now and veins are appearing which makes these spot injections tougher. The muscle spasm kind of freaked me out. I think you are right about being fine it isn't really too painful and I was able to work chest today no problems.

Ok everything has pretty much went away except for some itching. How long should I stay away from this site until I can inject into it again?

I'd give it a week if you can. Shit like that happens sometimes. An abcess will be very red in color, it will swell, a hard lump will form, and it will be very sore...

The redness is a very bad sign. If it does not go away within a couple days, you will need to see a doctor to check for infection.

The fact that there is no lump almost rules out an abscess.

If it is warm does that not mean there is some kind of infection, but I guess if the lump has gone down then its probably ok, though keep an eye on it, better to be safe then sorry.

Ill say this once-Know your injection technique-and just as important know when the injection feels right. If you get a spasm or immediate feelings of pressure and slight pain pull and re stick.
Being aware of these factors has kept me free of any abscesses or infections over 13 years and thousands of stick. No lie. BTW i almost literally bath everything in alcohol around and to the actual shot
