Possibility of hitting nerves when injecting?

So my crazy pharmacist tech friend found out im doing winny, he starts telling me how people always hit nerves when they shoot, and can paralyze/cripple themselves by damaging nerves, especially if you hit a vital one. He says its much more common then you think as well. Is he crazy? Or is there some truth to this?

Its possible, but the most common injection places are used because there arent a lot of nerves and vessels to hit in those areas. Plus, most of the major nerves run along side the major arteries and veins. And those are places you try to stay away from.(i.e. the inner thigh)

I've hit two in my legs before, never in the glutes, and never in the shoulder. They don't hurt as much as you think, it just scares the shit out of you! Its a feeling you cannot describe, just hit one and you'll know.

yeah, i've mostly hit the nerves in my quads, and that aint nice, my legs start twitching like crazy, all i do is pull it out and do it again. its not painful, but its kinda like a shock

Your buddy doesn't know what he's talking about. How many inner muscular shots do you think the average hospital gives in a week? 500? 1000? More than 1000? How many times do you here of people being paralyzed due to a tetnus shot? I've hit nerves before in my delt and you definitely know it when it happens but it is not that big a deal.

My Dr. put me on HRT and lets me inject myself. If the risks were that high I don't think he would have recommended it.

I hit something while going in to my left side delt that sent a jolt up to my neck; scared the shit out of me but didn't make me stop future injections. It only happened once and didn't cause any damage that I can tell.

After 100's of injections, I've only hit a nerve once. I injected too high in the top of the glutes and nailed a nerve.....hurt for a good few days.
