portion sizes

I have a quick question. When weighing out portion sizes of meat, should this be done when the meat is cooked or raw? All the pakages I have say a 4 oz or 6 oz serving size but do not indicate if this is before or after cooking.

I have a quick question. When weighing out portion sizes of meat, should this be done when the meat is cooked or raw? All the pakages I have say a 4 oz or 6 oz serving size but do not indicate if this is before or after cooking.

Since I use www.fitday.com to record all my food for the day, I have the option to choose either raw or cooked for portions, unless I've saved it as a custom food & the package specifies the serving is cooked or raw....

I personally choose X ounces of whatever cooked....

Always measure your meat COOKED. When raw, there is water in it that usually is released when cooked.
