Police Interceptor Ford Crown Vic???

Actually they arent that bad. You can get them for 4-5k in a decent shape. They come with extra goodies as you mentionned, HD suspension, extra battery, an 2nd radiator for the tranny...

dunno if i'd want to buy one, must be high miles or beat to hell

Some have a special tranny for over/drive down/shift option at a higher rmp .
So a cop can punch it at 90 mph and hual ass up to 140 mph to keep up in high speed persute.

Most I have seen are beat to shit at the auctions. Every now and then a sheriffs sgt's car with little use comes through the auction that was pampered with reg oil changes and fleet maintanied.

Most are making engine kocks and fing trashed.

I bought 3 2002 crown vics for 1000 - 1200$ each ,repainted them
sold each one for 4k an flipped a decent profit.
I have a dealer auction lic , but sometimes dealer bid the cars up to high in a frenzy penis battle.

Oh, I was always under the impression that they removed stuff..... sorry..... Tonight I am on watch so I best be good and apologize for any misinformation.

Sorry Puddles, man I was upset before I even got online, then some assholes red my Karma so I put it up so nobody can hit it with red again. Now I am going to disappear for a few days bro...... catch ya Thursday or Friday..... I think I am going to a Hotel for a few days...... My first year without my grandkids (by marriage) and without my dogs...... I made some bad posts today is all.... so I go on my own and do what I do best......

Don't worry about it bro, we all makes bad posts from time to time (except me of course), and we all have bad days too.

They do remove all the cop lights and cop communication gear, and the barricade between the seats.

But swapping engines would cost money.

Around here it seems most of them end up as taxi cabs. All the Crown Vic taxis I see have the "Police Interceptor" badge on the trunk lid. Sometimes the quickie Earl Scheib yellow paint job is so slapdash that they just paint over the PI badge.

one of the most overall satisfying cars i have ever owned was a '96 mercury grand marquis, the fraternal twin of the crown vic.

it was white, blue cloth interior, tinted windows, with the (at the time) high output engine. one high beam headlight flash and 99% of the LLB's (Left Land Bandits) got the hell outta my way!

although some cars were faster on paper, the combo of the engine's power, rear axle gearing and the lively, quick-to-downshift transmission (sometimes 2 gears at once!) made for a Peppy Powertrain that felt quicker than the hard numbers would suggest.

the seats were supportive enough for my gimpy back so that i could make the 11 hour, 700 mile run from new orleans to bristol, TN in complete comfort and not needing my back popped once i got there.

i bought the car used, with about 11K on it and put another 124K TROUBLE FREE miles on the car before i sold it to a co-worker. NOTHING broke on that car! all i did was change the oil and put gasoline in it.

I find that most of the time hood rats drive the old police cars. It just doesn't make sense to me. You spend all that time trying not to end up getting in trouble by the PO PO, trying to stay out of the police car, and then they go and buy one...lol

There's some guy here in Douglasville (Atlanta suburb)rolling a former state trooper Vic, with the familar two-tone paint still intact. Every time he comes up behind traffic all the dumbasses stamp their brakes. Christ people have you EVER seen a state trooper car w/o a light bar?

perhaps they buy 'em because they are familiar with the interior/back seat of these cars? :FRlol:

Yes, in Georgia it's common as GSP has several slick tops and even SUV's now that they are using for traffic enforcement. County and city cops are not allowed to have slick tops.

we have tons of slick tops here and totally unmarked cars, and vans (black)

sneaky bastards
