please reccomend a weight programme

hi there,i know this must have been asked loads but im after a weight training programme.i am training in the gargage and just have a multi position bench and a set of dumbells and a barbell.

im quite confused,as some people recommend this 5x5 routine some HIT training e.c.t

i know it all comes down to what suits you and what goals you want so here goes.

im 21 year old male.
about 25 pound overweight

my aim is to lose weight obviously so im doing cardio 5 times a week for 45 mins a session,but want to know what weight training routine is reccomended as the very best to aid me in shedding weight and cutting up.im dieting quite strickly so want a weight routine to maintain or even make my muslces grow,what would some of you pros recommend?should i life heavy or light?low reps high reps,is there one definitive answer like yea do this do that e.c.t or not.

Read the post by Glenn Pendlay in this thread. If you're just beginning to lift, you can't go wrong with the Rippetoe 3x5 (see the sticky). Get a power rack to go with that bench and bar and you should be set.
 
Goal is to loose weight... I'd recommend you browse through the Diet forum to read about all the quality foods to eat.
