yesterday i got a call from overseas stating that my uncle (like my father) is dying of liver cancer and there is nothing that can be done. He didnt do AAS. It is just happened in his life. He is a very healthy man. doesnt drink or smoke neither.

Im writing this for all those that abuse AAS and thinks they will be ok. One thing for sure is that "we" all think about getting big but never realised the risk we put our body in. If someone can get a liver cancer naturally then those who abuse AAS have a much greater chance.

This is not a thread to tell people to stop AAS but please do not abuse of it.

He has three gorgeous girls and a wonderfull wife. I hope that we should not only consider ourself but also consider the ones who loves us.

The docs didnt give him a time frame but said the cancer has gone to his bones as well and discharged him.

I hope this may have an impact on those young kids who have no idea of AAS and just want to use it and end up abusing it.

sorry to hear about this, you should also preach to those who drink, smoke, eat unhealthy, maybe even talk on cell phones. Everything now a day causes cancer its unfortunate for you and your loss but you can't predict the future I could die tomorrow so I'm gonna live my life to the fullest while I'm here and do what I want.

I completely agree with you but at least it makes u think if it is all worth it at the end of the road.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you and your family are coping well.
If I were you, I'd still do some research into assisting your uncle/father's liver/cancer despite what the doctors say -they often overlook things (not saying it isn't terminal) . I will have a look through some scientific journals tomorrow. If nothing else it will give you some peace of mind, in that you did as much as you could to prolong his life. I would also get him on some detoxification tablets like simarylin 140 (milk thistle) - I know this is probably futile, but you never know, it may slightly extend his life. I also have written about whey protein in the past, inclusive of it's anti cancer properties (I'll dig that up and send it tomorrow)

Peace

thank u for ur support sport scientist & djicy but unfortunately i have talked to many different doctors and it is too late for any recoveries. when the cancer hit the liver it is pretty much only couple of weeks.

I hope nowdays people research b/4 jumpinmg into things. cause we only think abt what happens now not our future.

I myself used my first cycle without any great knowledge but this board thought me a lot of things b/4 i cycle again. ( i only did 2 cycle so far.

For those who comes on this board and dnt read anything and wants to jump into sauce please do ur research.

Hey bro,
I feel for you and your family in regards to your uncle. It's never easy. Hope he sticks it out longer than you hope. I gotta be honest though, you're telling people to not abuse AAS (which you're right) so something like this doesn't happen to them, but like you said , your uncle didn't get this from AAS or even alcohol or smoking. For someone to get liver cancer from steroids is extremely rare. Anadrol is about the only compound that they have been able to link to liver cancer, I'm sure if taken in high doses. Your definition of abuse could be someone else's normal cycle, and the assumption that someone gets liver cancer naturally ( without drugs or alcohol) does not mean that if you do steroids, specially in higher doses, that your chances of getting liver cancer are much higher. That is simply not true. Everyone is different and I would not make a blanket statement like that. Again bro, I'm sorry about your uncle and wish you and your family the best through these hard times.

Tragedies are a time when people really get reflective, but its also a time dominated by emotion far more than logic. What you are doing is questioning the value of anything when weighted against life itself and being around for those you love. In such a comparison, no activity will seem justified. Liver cancer will kill you, but odds are it has 99% to do with your personal genetic predisposition to the affliction. Granted if you participate in hugely abusive behavior, i.e. alcoholism, overexposure to chemicals, you can aid its development but even in these extreme circumstances genetic predisposition is still a major factor. Just look at the binge drinkers who live to 80, why? The a man who is otherwise completely healthy develops terminal liver cancer. Unfortunately, its life. The bottomline is that steroid use in anything less than incredibly abusive quantities is not going to determine whether you get liver cancer. You are going to get it, if you are going to get it and if not you won't. SO if cycling some gear makes your life a little better or more fulfilling, then you should do it b/c whether you've got 10 days or 40 years left you should enjoy them.

For those who want to disagree, please post a single study conclusively linking an injectable steroid to any form of liver cancer. No f-ing way. Even the one famous culprit with a study to cling to, i.e. anadrol, if I'm not mistaken is based on its use by victims of aids and other immuno-compromising diseases and at very high dosages for extended periods of time. I question this link as tenative at best. I really believe that supposed liver toxicity is a rumor thats about as right as the belief that gear really didn't work. Its bs IMO

i totally agree with u. My main point for for those who use steroids without doing any research. those 18 yrs old who jump on it so it makes them big. The idiotic one.

I will say though there is a level of attempted dismissal of very real risks inherent in anabolic use, and as you noted this most commonly is exhibited by novices. While gear will not give you liver cancer, in order to correctly use any gear one must admit that there are some adverse effects. Bloating which leads to high bp along with altered lipid profiles are very real risks. Granted they can be controled and in most cases negated all together, but only if they are accepted as being issues. Too many newbies hear us on a thread stating that anabolics are safe, which when used correctly they are, but translate that to there being no risk. When you think there is no risk to gear, thats a problem. You can only use anabolics safely when you account for the risks.

For those who want to disagree, please post a single study conclusively linking an injectable steroid to any form of liver cancer.

I have only done 2 cycles myself, and will do another 3/4 before I quit. To suggest that anabolic steroids do not have a negative effect on the liver is crazy. I would agree that liver cancer is highly unlikely to be atributed to sensible steroid use, but many people DO abuse steroids. You see this when people are asking what they should stack with 1g of test and 50mg dbol! If this behaviour is continued for many years, the resulting elevated liver values (you will have elevated hepatoxicity values) could concievably lead to kidney cancer.
I agree that there is no link between this guy's uncle/father and a steroid abuser, but you have to agree with the sentiment. Many steroid users take far higher doseages than they really need. They could scale their doseages back, and still be huge. If someone reads this, and it makes them think twice about doing 200mg of anadrol a day or something equally crazy, it might change their future.

To the guy with the sick uncle: You should spend as much time with him as you can before he dies. Respect.

People get sick and die all the time, and while its a tradegy, its not something that should be posted in the STERIOD DISCUSSION FORUM under the title of "Please read this". Sorry, but you should really edit this post, because not to sound rude, but it is really getting old how whenever someone has a tradegy in their family, breaks up with their G/F, loses money, etc., it gets posted in the steriod discuassion forum. Mods, why is it allowed? Why even have a C&C board if people are allowed to disrespect this board like this?

with all due respect this thread was started so it may educate youngsters who come on this board thinking they have the juice and abuse it. I know the difference between the other boards. It seems so many ppl come on this board with no clue off AAS and are too lazy to research so decide to use it the way they want it. The greed of getting big tooo quickly
My whole point behind this thread is for those who have no idea of AAS to research properly b/4 using it. hence I believe it is supposed to be in this forum.
This has nothing to do with what im experiencing thru this incident.

there was this thread started couple of days ago abt this guy who had all this bottles and didnt have any clue on how to use it. He thought he had to shoot the needle in the anus :-).

I understand what u r trying to say but this is to stop idiots not those who knows what to do.
