I saw a thread recently, but cant find it anywhere. Someone used a method of doing

body weight X something - some number = recommended caloric intake.

My gf is building a diet and needs to know how many calories she needs to eat to loose weight. I appreciate any help. She is 5'9" at 135 lbs.
 
From what I've read on here, 12 times weight seems to be the recommended caloric intake for cutting and 14-15 times weight if trying to gain mass. Hope this helps.
 
Actually, 14-15x bodyweight is a measure of maintenance calories as opposed to bulking. This will of course vary among individuals, but it's a good starting point. For bulking, you want to go 17-20.
