PLEASE CRITIQUE DIET! Will post weekly updates with pics.

This is my first time really trying to diet consistently. I'm sick of these fucking love handles. I will be posting weekly pictures of my progress, as well as measurements. I'm trying to get rid of the damn love handles and jelly roll. Below is a link to an Excel file which you might find useful, but it's also my diet. Once it's open, click on Sheet 2 at the bottom to find a breakdown of my diet.

I'll be getting up in the morning and taking NYC and putting on Yohimburn and doing the stairstepper for 30 mins on MWF, and maybe run by the lake on the weekend. I'll be working out M and W and doing large compound movements like power cleans, squats, benches, etc.

I'll be drinking crystal light on MWF, and iced green tea on T Th Sa Su.

I've tried a CKD diet and can't do it during school with exams and stuff. It messes with my head.

I'm 5'10", 195lbs. (gained about 10lbs in a couple months)

Download: http://www.poofchairs.com/mydiet.xls

And here's a pic I took...I can't get any good ones taking them by myself. I'll get more "before" pics up when I can get my g/f to take them for me.

Any help and motivation is greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone on this board.

your diet and workout look good
you're getting good fats from walnuts too so at least if you aint taking flax you're getting some fat from a good source (you could just try mixing it with your shake, it will mask the taste which by the way im actually starting to like lol)

From your pic you look like you've got a good base you can just see some definition in your abs, i think if you stick to the diet you'll lose the fat and you'll cut up nicely!

Good luck bro! :fro: keep us posted!

just curious but how long did you stay on the ckd, and how did it mess with your head???

Looks like your on the right track with your diet, good job bro.

Just lightheaded, couldn't remember stuff right away, I felt stupid. So I figure there's no way I'm doing that if I have to study for tests and whatnot. I did it for only two weeks. I couldn't take much more of that crap. I felt like barfing sometimes, too.

Is it ok to snack on pickles and sunflower seeds (with the shells) if I get cravings? Pickles have pretty much no calories, but sunflower seeds do. But its good fat. And it gives me something to do.

The tuna in the stay-fresh pouches is damn good. I was gonna invent a can opener that would allow you to open the tuna can, drain it, and toss it without any tuna touching your hands. So much for that idea....

And should I switch meal 3 with meal 5? I figure the cottage cheese before bed is a better idea. And plus I won't have tuna breath during my late night bed aerobics

A few thoughts...

#1. You are making it to complicated....
#2. I would just stick to 100g Carbs, 300g proteins, 45g fat
#3. Have one cheat day or meal a week....
#4. Rest of the days...stick to the diet....
#5. Pickles are loaed with sodium...
#6. Kick up cardio to 5-6 days/week...for 45-60mins...
#7. rotate calories from 1800-2200....
#8. If I had your body I would be eating ZERO carbs and drop lb's like crazy....
#9. Stay focused....Put up signs near any binge type foods that say..."Go to bed you fat fuck"...this may help...

"#1. You are making it to complicated.... "

If I don't write out exactly what I'm going to eat, then I won't do it correctly. This is the only way that I can easily stick to a plan. The spreadsheet just helped me get my ratios right, and I can add and subtract something and it calculates it automatically.

"#5. Pickles are loaed with sodium... "

I'm fine with the sodium and the bloat, especially for the first few weeks. As long as it curbs my cravings, calorie free. Will the sodium negatively affect my diet, or just make me retain water?

"#6. Kick up cardio to 5-6 days/week...for 45-60mins..."

This seems excessive...won't it burn my muscle away?

"#9. Stay focused....Put up signs near any binge type foods that say..."Go to bed you fat fuck"...this may help..."

I made a point to throw out anything that isn't in my diet, and not buy anything that isn't. That way I can't walk by the fridge and eat some ice cream or something. I was at home for spring break and my mom made like a million cookies and I ended up eating most of them. Which is why I'm going on a diet!

The other suggestions are good, like cycling my calories. I might try that. Thanks for the help NJ

By Complicated I was talking about your variety of foods...keep it simple...! I see alot of potential in you...The cardio should be walking on an incline...at a speed of 3.7 Incline 15...you will not burn muscle....TRUST ME.

I actually do 15 at 3.5 and then drop to 3.2. Sometimes it hurts my shins. I hate it b/c I have to walk for like a damn hour. I just did 20 mins on the stairstep. I gotta work up to longer times. Haven't done cardio in a while!

I'm pretty excited to see my results in a couple weeks. And I'm definitely going to take pictures. Maybe Monday and Thursday.

And for my carb up, should I eat like a box of cereal in a day or what?

A box of cereal works, but it gets boring...I would much rather eat a huge subway sub on whole grain roll...sushi or bagels....

Post some new picks I am curious to see...

I like that one. Think I'll try it tonight.

Also, I refuse to take fish oils or flax seed oil. They both make me want to vomit.

Lav:

Every single time I have tried flax it has made me sick. I stick with almonds, and olive oil.

Quick question; whick protein do you like better...eas or myoplex?

Best of luck!

Well Myoplex is an MRP and the protein is just...well...protein, so it's hard to compare. Both taste great. I've found that it tastes much better when you blend the Myoplex w/ four ice cubes instead of in a shaker, but all in all Myoplex tastes great.

I think that EAS has the best tasting whey protein on the market. Try mixing a scoop of vanilla w/ 1c fat free vanilla yogurt and 1/2c fat free cottage cheese. Lots of protein and fills you up.

L - keep posting the pics and it will keep you motivated... AM cardio will help keep your diet strict.. YOu wont want to cheat if you are waking up at 5 am to hit the treadmilll....

stay focused, stay disciplined!!!!

sup lavathian. dont worry bout cardio gettin you small.....do sprints, they will build your muscles up and strip your fat off.

Just an update. It's my refeed day today. I had 6 egg whites and fruity pebbles w/ skim milk, then more fruity pebbles later on with some almond oven-fried chicken (got the recipie from the Muscle Food board), then some yogurt, then a can of tuna with another bowl of fruity pebbles. After my workout and cardio right now, I'll have a myoplex with the rest of the fruity pebbles, then at night, yogurt/cottage cheese/whey protein.

I had cravings like no other last night and this morning. Now they're pretty much gone since I've been eating all those fruity pebbles. I've kept the fat at pretty much zero except the fat in the cereal itself, and some from the chopped almonds in the chicken.

Looking forward to another week ahead of me. More pics on Monday. Thanks to everyone who's posted so far. Keep me motivated!

almond butter is a tastey alternative to flax, pick up fish oil caps its costs a little more but its good to have

great job - keep posting the pics, it should keep you motivated knowing you have to face the camera....

YOU ARE DOING GREAT - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

It's probably just the way I'm flexing. I assure you they're the same. My right hand is over my left one. Maybe that's why, I dunno. I'll try taking my next pic with my hands switched. Maybe stand somewhere directly under the light instead of off to the side.

I've done dumbbells for the past 4 months or so though on flat bench. I always use dumbells for incline though. Hardly ever do bar.

For chest though, I've had great results with the "increase your bench by 50lbs in 8 weeks" article from EAS's website that was in Muscle Media a while ago. It's a great program, and my bench went up 40lbs. My friend did it twice with a 3-4 week break in between and his went up 50 and then 30 again. You'll notice a larger chest by the time you're done with the program.

Oh, and just an update...my jelly roll is noticeably smaller when I pinch it. Thank god....

Shit, this diet is easy. Food is good too. The only time I had problems was last friday night. I was starting to get cravings. Maybe it was due to the fact that I went to the grocery store and down the cereal aisle to pick up my lovely carb-up box of sugar cereal.... All the bright colors and the anticipation of the next day's feeding frenzy.

I was 187.5 yesterday, and this morning I broke a new low at 185.5. Today is my carb-up!!! Woo hooo!!

Definite change in my abs. I think the pictures will speak for themselves (hopefully!).

:clock:

Ok so... today, as I was SUPPOSED to be adhering to my diet, I ended up eating my leftover chicken and pasta (mostly pasta) from Tripps last night (yesterday was my carb up day), but I tried to negate it by also drinking 2 scoops of EAS Whey.

And tonight, while at the grocery store getting my usual stuff, my g/f sent me on a mission to find her a 5th Avenue bar. Well, they didnt have it, so the closest thing was a Butterfinger and a Chick-o-Stick (mmm...). I got home and she didn't want either of them, so I ended up eating them both. :bawling: I guess tonight I'll leave out the yogurt and just have cottage cheese and whey.

So now I bet tomorrow's pics are going to suck. I feel bloated now. I hope I'm not losing it. Someone please kick my ass. Thanks.

this is why id dont do ckd's. and these planned binges all they do is fuck you up. especially when you refeed on sugary stuff. try eating whole fruit moderate to low protien and you will get cut in no time with a good amount of cardio thrown in too. i would suggest 10 peices of round fruits like apples and oranges a day with 2 cans of tuna with like a table spoon of olive oil. and 1 hour of cardio a day along with your lifting and you will get ripped

There's no way in hell I can make it with 10 pieces of fruit, 2 cans of tuna, and a tbsp of olive oil.

The diet is working great, but I was just an idiot today in what I ate.

But that's behind me and I have a few more weeks to go.

I didn't take any pictures yesterday because I wasn't working out or anything. I'll take them today after I go do my cardio.

I'm at an all time low of 184.5. That's a 7.5lb drop since I started three weeks ago. I can definitely tell a difference when I pinch my roll, and my girlfriend can tell that I've lost some fat. My top 2 abs are highly visible.

I'm pretty excited that this is working out for me. I'll post pics in about an hour or so.

New pics are up for the start of week 4! I stood UNDER the light this time...much better. What a concept. Check out the last pose... blows my mind!

Still have the love handles though... but I'm gettin there. I've noticed a bigger difference in my chest and arms in terms of fat loss. Standing in front of the mirror, my chest looks like its now shaped differently. Probably can't see it in the pics. Only the upper abs are showing a visible difference.

Pick me apart...what do you think? Should I make any changes? I only have two more weeks. By the end of this week, I see my weight hitting 183.5...about 8.5lb loss.

Thursday's pics up. Hadn't done cardio or worked out since Monday. I just did cardio this morning. So there isn't much change.

Workin out tonight, cardio tomorrow morning, then carb up saturday. Chinese food....can't wait! ;)

once again bro it looks like it's working
your chest looks more defined and less flabby than week one
it's obviously seems to be working
Stick at it!
