playing PC games like old fashioned nintendo

OOOOKkkkkaaaayyy boys & girls. Nordstrom knows that if he hooks his TV up to the TV out plug in his Video Card he can use the living room tv as a monitor rather than the comp. monitor.

now how do i hook up a handheld controller like the kinds used by sega or nintendo. do they make those, and what outlet do i plug them into.

I am computer illiterate, kindof.

Yes they do, I haven't had a joystick for my computer since I was 11 or so but back then they plugged into the soundcard. I imagine these days they go USB.

why not just get a nes/snes/sega/tgfx16/n64/gameboy emulator for your computer and download and play any old school game for free?

they make ones similar, you plug then into a port on your sound card or into your serial port (9 pins) in the back of your PC.
