What size do you want it? How far away will you sit from the screen? How is the lighting control in your viewing room? How much room do you have in the TV space/cabinet/wall unit etc...? What will your TV watching mostly consist of, DVDs, Regular TV, HDTV, Do you play a lot of video games?
All these factors are impportant in deciding which technology to get. I still think a rear projection CRT TV is the best picture quality out there. As long as it's properly calibrated (ISF calibration) you will be hard pressed to find a better image among the different technologies out today. The others are getting closer, but still a year or two away and they are MUCH MORE money than the CRT sets.
Every technology has it's pros and cons. You have to know the answers to the questions I asked above to figure out which to buy.
I have an LCD HDTV on my kitchen wall and I love it. I liked the HD so much that I purchased another HDTV for my living room, 65 inch RPTV (CRT TV) and the CRT looks better! If you have the room, I still say go for the RPTV/CRT. I say "have the room" because they are relatively Deep as opposed to the other technologies. DLPs are slightly less deep, and LCD and Plasma, although more expensive, are the thinnest.
A!
