if its an RPG like everquest, you have to pay the monthly fee because the game is constantly changing and the company hires programmers to keep adding new "worlds" to the game when you login. thats the point of an rpg...it keeps changing and new thigns are always added so it never gets old. its not like a first person shooter where you play the same levels over and over.

i got it as a bday gift from a buddy of mine. i was looking forward to playing the shit out of it, and then i saw the monthly subscription fee of $12.99/month. i'm gonna play out the 30 day free sub and then see what i think of it.

I bought it and played it for awhile..It was a little to "Frag em" for me. I play Anarchy Online where you can pretty much play on your own and not have to team up to get anywhere in level. I also like a more alien looking game so when the expansion pack "Shadowlands" comes out next month..I will be a very happy camper!
