2 years ago, I was told yes you can - limited amount (10 or 15?) and you have to sign some type of release/waiver thingy. I'm too much of a pussy though - afraid with my luck I'll run into someone I know. I've used both http://www.carecenter.com and pharmstock.com - both are quick, easy, and require no face to face interaction.

Hmmm....
Two general options....
1. Many on-line places will let you buy and will ship unless they know your state bans it.
2. Most vet stores (esp. livestock places) sell needles. If you dress like someone who's worked the field and don't look like a gym rat, they won't think twice about picking up a box of 100.
