I saw some of these crazy sand sculptures in the Canary Islands. Through the day the creator will sit next to his sculpture collecting money and answering questions while people ohhhh and ahhhh. On the evening he would rope it off but because it was built on a public beach he'd get the drunks staggering into it every night. In the mornings he'd go nuts when he arrived to find some fuckers size 11 smack bang in the middle of his creation.

There are artists out here that do awesome sand sculptures on the beach. All that work and then they let the waves and wind wash them away.

When I was stationed in Norfolk back around 1990, VA Beach used to have an international Sand Sculpture competition every year, incredible work.
