I thought this thread was about metal, but then I didn't see Manowar mentioned anywhere.

I knew there would be many bands/artists that could be on the list, I even left many off to keep the list short and to give you the opportunity to make a "Pick the best...Part two", don't forget about Maynard. Thanks ppl. True music lovers.

Manowar are the Kings of Metal. I was just joking that you made a metal thread without mention to the undisputed greatest METAL band of all time (and if you have a different opinion, it's wrong, and you're not metal )

Bah. I don't find many metalheads that get my Manowar humor the first time around anymore. I think I'm getting old or something.

Manowar formed in 1980, so any band that happened to exist before 1980 doesn't count. Metal did not exist before Manowar.
