Posted this on the men's board as well. I've been reading a number of posts regarding thigh injections so I decided to post this as a caution.
Got this pic from an orthopedic surgeon colleague. Not gear related, but the result of an impact hematoma in the thigh that this person didn’t have checked for almost 2 weeks, by which time there was serious cell damage occurring and it became infected. Needed emergency surgery and the wound had to stay open for weeks, packed everyday with gauze and required 2 weeks of IV antibiotics. It was a real f***ing mess and this person is out of sports for months.
This can happen if you hit an arteriole in the thigh while injecting even clean gear. If it starts to swell, don’t wait hoping it will go away. The longer you wait, the bigger the incision will be to clean it up. If there are any signs of infection from dirty gear, the situation will be worse. Don’t f*** around with thigh injections, be careful.
