it all depends...when using multiple drugs that are highly protein bound >90%, they can increase or decrease the serum concentration of one of the drugs and/or the amount of free drug(not bound to protein in the blood and therefore more readily active)...if this drug has a narrow therapeutic window between a therapeutic level and toxic levels it can pose a problem...also if the drugs you are taking are metabolized by cytochrome P- 450 liver enzymes the same can occur..
some androgens are highly protein bound...and not just SHBG bound..
if you do decide to take supplements with prescribed drugs be aware of any signs and symptoms that are unusual,, and better off discuss this with your prescribing doc.
