is there anywhere i can get a program for free to allow me to upload in this way?

new cameras are normally USB ready... meaning it should show up as a new drive in "My Computer"... (and I mean your computer Peter)

hmmmmm

Go to downloads.com and type in some key words to what you are looking for. Your camera may have a specific one though.

I don't need any for my camera.. I just put the memory card in and a window opens up directly thru windows.

Do you plug directly from your camera with a usb? If so make sure you don't have a drive letter confict. I get that happening here at work sometimes.. not sure how many drives you have on your puter... But if its trying to load as say the "F" Drive and you already have a designated "F" drive it won't open and you'll have to go and specify for window to change it to a different letter.

did I make any sense at all ? :worried:

You need a USB driver for the Specific camera and model.

Most camera manufac web sites have a free download of the USB connect driver
for each OS.. Install the driver and when you connect the camera to the USB and turn it on, the Plug and play should see the camera, load the driver and make the camera look like a drive in Explorer.

google

kodak USB driver

or whatever brand camera you have. Add the model if you want as well to the search.

thank y-lifter, i downloaded the usb driver, but when i plug my cam in it doesn't start up

any ideas?

gid..dammit..

I'm gonna come over and do this shit for you ;)

Did you turn on and set the camera on the setting for viewing pics vs taking them ?
Did you reboot the PC after loading the driver ?
Did Windows give you an error regarding unknown USB device etc when you plugged it in ?

Did you look on the manufac web site for a FAQ etc regarding connecting via USB,
as that model may not be USB auto connect capable if its a cheap'o
In that case you would need to determine the software needed other than USB.

lmao

watch after all of this his camera wasn't on...

hee hee

on my work comp. when i plug the cam in, it doesnt AUTOMATICALLY do anything (like it does on my comp at home). so i have to open up MY COMPUTER and go to removeable disk E: and open that up. that's where i find the pics. um. that's all i can say at this time
